Thanks for your comment I will be celebrating her milestone we going to go out together to buy padded crop tops and just celebrate her milestone. And will for sure go to the chemist and ask for the topical cream. 🙂

I don’t think it’s a good idea to make a big deal out of it. She might think she’s different whereas she is just starting puberty and experiencing the same as most of her friends. Just to prepare you, periods normally start within 2 years of breast buds developing. I do think it would help you and your daughter to get a book on the subject so you are both more aware of what to expect.

Breast buds are tender and do hurt when you go into a desk. It’s strange you can’t remember that at all OP from when you were younger. You’ve had a lot of replies to tell you it’s perfectly normal to have breast buds and still seem to have extreme reactions. Why on earth would you celebrate your daughter having breast buds? How strange. Will you celebrate when she gets her first underarm hair too?! I seriously think you need to make much less of a deal about the whole puberty thing with your daughter or she’s going to become very anxious and self conscious about it her body

Are you going to celebrate every milestone? First spot? Pube?

U calling a 9 year old weird….thats nasty.. clearly u ain’t a nice person. If you got nothing positive to say please don’t comment your comment don’t affect me it’s not valid nor helpful. My daughter is turning into a woman and that is a milestone.

If she wants to celebrate it then go ahead just please don't force a cringey celebration on her. Most kids just want to be left alone without their body attracting attention for doing what it's doing.

OP - DD was sent to cancer clinic. Dr looked and was immediately sure they were breast buds - right place size everything. No need for a scan.

we kept the appt as I felt that I couldn’t not - what’s the point in consulting an expert and then ignoring them? DD was young, it was just one, nobody else had them at that point etx

GladAllOver · 27/09/2024 10:59

A breast bud seems an odd thing to celebrate. If you want to celebrate her turning into a woman, do it when she has her first period.

I'm glad you're feeling reassured now.

Thanks ☺️

Yea that’s helpful didn’t think of that I will do. Only thing is where would you get the book from?

@Shaz83 - there are quite a few books on Amazon. The one I got for my DD is called ‘Girls Only’ by Victoria Parker. I’ll see if I can link it.

Inastatus · 27/09/2024 11:30

The library? A book shop? Amazon?
