Nope. I asked him about a month ago if it was still there and he said no it had gone.

Obviously your daughters won't disappear

That’s good. I never experienced this before it don’t help that 2 doctors said could either be a cyst or breast bud… I wish I had seen the pediatric doctor in the first place…. And when they say monitor it. Monitor what exactly if it’s nothing concerning….

Breast buds as others have said, boys get them too. Seriously calm down, you'll frighten your daughter.

I have calmed down spoke with gp on the phone yesterday. And feel very reassured by what he said. The only thing I didn’t ask is how long do breast buds stay tender for? My daughter said tonight she accidentally went in to the desk in school and it felt sore. What should I expect how can I help her?

You don't have to do anything. Just let it happen. It's all perfectly normal. She's growing.

sunonthetrees · 26/09/2024 22:27

My DD (quite a bit younger) had this and a mad young inexperienced GP DID refer her to the breast cancer clinic under the 2 week wait procedure. I can 100% guarantee that you do NOT want this. Took all my powers of distraction to ensure DD didn’t notice what was going on; gave the dr a letter saying ‘seriously I think this is mad - please say NOTHING that will terrify my child’ - he had a quick check and we were away. And guess what: she now has breasts. (Was a v early developer so it all was a bit odd, but still, mad mad to refer her).

@Shaz83 - how long is a piece of string? We are talking hormones and each female is affected so differently by them so I don’t think anyone can say how long her breast tenderness will last. Just stop worrying and reassure her that what she is experiencing is normal.

So you didn’t go for a scan after all?

I don’t know! I’m all new to this hence why I need to ask these questions…. I can’t even remember my breast buds it’s been so long! So please no need for the sarcasm…. And I’m 100% reassured now and would not even go through with a scan as now I realised it is deffintley a breast bud. The doctor yesterday reassured me. And I have sat my daughter down and said it’s perfectly normal. She is just developing. There is nothing wrong with asking a question I’m not sure off…..if you don’t like it and will be sarcastic then don’t comment.

How do breast buds feel? So it’s normal for 1 side to have one and the other nipple to be completely flat?

Yes my DD noticed the exact same thing age 9 on one side only. Took about a year for the other side to bud too. Very common.

@Shaz83 - i was the first person to reply to your post but you obviously didn’t believe me or the many posters that followed who agreed with me. I only jumped in again because we were several pages in and you were still questioning. Going forwards I suggest you educate yourself on puberty in girls otherwise you will be in and out of your Dr’s surgery very frequently!!!

LunaTheCat · 26/09/2024 23:19

OP ….get her to wear a tight vest or crop top to support the breast.
Topical anti-inflammatory gel may help.
it’s normal for it to be tender.
don’t make a big deal but make sure you celebrate her emerging womanhood with her… make it positive. (GP here)

AW24 · 27/09/2024 00:04

I had something similar, doctor said it's developing breast tissue.

im confused by by your comment. Was it the same doctor that checked your daughter was going to refer your daughter? And then he checked her decided no actually she don’t need a scan?
if that’s the case then that is crazy. Similar to me and this pharmacist who thought my daughter would be referred…. But now I’m at peace and know now it’s actually my daughter developing bless her.
going to celebrate this milestone ❤️

Weird

Balloonhearts · 27/09/2024 09:35

Do NOT put topical stuff on her nipple. I got deep heat on mine once and it stung like hell.
