Is this a boil?

This is on my daughters eyelid. It started thurs/Friday as a red spot.

Should I take her to GP? NHS website says I should but I'm not even sure if it is a boil or just a giant pimple!

Is this a boil?

Well you don't need to have a medical degree to see that that needs treatment asap as the antibiotics are clearly not working. I'm not surprised you are angry and worried. The consultant sounds appalling.

bluerunningshoes · 09/08/2018 17:47

I'm fuming for you.
your poor dd

is there another hospital you could get to?

I think you should consider a complaint to the hospital (PALS). write down what happened and when and (ideally) who you spoke to.

good luck!

musicinspring1 · 09/08/2018 17:59

I’m really feeling for you and your DD too but have no helpful advice I’m afraid 😟My only other thought was if there was another hospital nearby but appreciate probably not - I’m lucky to be in London and have 3 hospitals all equidistant which is why I’ve thought of it but realise not an option for everyone. Fingers crossed it gets better for her quickly and hopefully someone else will have better advice xx

Thank you all so much.

It has popped on its own about 30mins ago!!! Thank the lord for that!!

It's still draining and stinging but she is being brave.

All the talk this morning if it hardening and no pus point was a load of cobblers as I thought.

I will email everything to PALS and pursue a complaint. It's just been a nightmare last few days!

Fingers crossed it just heals up now and that's that. I will obviously keep up with antibiotics as protection and keep the wound clean and bathed regularly etc.

Eye still red and sore and she's still very grumpy (she's knackered!!)

I'm sure by morning she will be loads better.

I really hope dd gets better.
keep on top of wound hygiene.

flumpybear · 09/08/2018 18:54

Ouchy poor DD that looked awful! So glad she's got some relief now - hope it goes and doesn't return

Knittedfairies · 09/08/2018 19:10

Your poor girl! Hope she’s feeling better now.

Justgettothepoint · 09/08/2018 23:29

Poor old sausage! Thank goodness for that! Hopefully on the mend then. Bet yr knackered too with all the stress. Hope yr tucked up in bed and not reading this! FlowersBrewandStar for yr dd.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 10/08/2018 08:20

How is your girl this morning?

pieceofpurplesky · 10/08/2018 11:21

How is she today!

purpleshimmer · 10/08/2018 12:33

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone Smile

She's still feeling crappy this morning so is having a sofa day...I think she's just still really tired with it all.

The wound is looking bloody and scabby and I think another lump of pus is starting to form. More bathing it and it will come out I'm sure.

Fortunately the purple ring round her eye (the cellulitis) is much better so i think we've turned a corner there...phew!!

I'm well and truly done in, I normally have fatigue and migraines and have to pace any activities I do so all this travelling about and stress has knocked me for six..I could sleep for a week!

Just so pleased she's getting better, who would have thought a small spot could turn into something so stressful? Shock

Thanks
