Does anyone remember my little Blue-eyed Joseph? Bad news and I could use some support, please.

My 6 year old, Joseph, was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma cancer when he was 3. He had 14 months off treatment and then had no evidence of disease for 2.5 years. We were starting to imagine a future for us all and make plans.

We found out a fortnight ago that he has relapsed. 5 year survival rates from here are less than 5%. Possibly even less than 1%, I can't remember. Chemo starts tomorrow, I am struggling to understand how this has happened to us again (because there is no reason) and how on earth we are going to make it through this. I know it's by taking a minute at a time, but it feels so huge right now.

So very sorry to read about Joseph, I followed Trazzle's threads closely from beginning but even more closely when my son was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. He sounded like an amazingly brave little boy and Trazzles wrote beautifully. Thinking of you all and wishing you strength, x

I saw this in Active and knew. I am sorry beyond words. As a cancer person myself I don't like the word fought, but he and the rest of your family showed great courage.
Thank you for letting us know MrsDV.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I followed this from the very beginning. Can't believe it's ended so sadly.

5BlueHydrangea · 15/07/2017 19:21

Oh Trazzles. That is so hard for you all. Your gorgeous boy, I feel so sad for you. At some point you will hopefully find a little comfort that he's no longer ill and in pain.
Winstons wish is a good charity to help with the bereavement of a child. Sending hugs and prayers.

myrtleWilson · 15/07/2017 19:25

So sorry to hear this - much love to Trazzles

Dinkydoos · 15/07/2017 19:31

Trazzles, for each one that has posted there are so many more people that are thinking of you all at this time. Your love for Joseph has always stood out, and you are the most amazing mum he could have had. Lots of people on here may not post but hold you and gorgeous Joseph in their thoughts.
