Does anyone remember my little Blue-eyed Joseph? Bad news and I could use some support, please.

My 6 year old, Joseph, was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma cancer when he was 3. He had 14 months off treatment and then had no evidence of disease for 2.5 years. We were starting to imagine a future for us all and make plans.

We found out a fortnight ago that he has relapsed. 5 year survival rates from here are less than 5%. Possibly even less than 1%, I can't remember. Chemo starts tomorrow, I am struggling to understand how this has happened to us again (because there is no reason) and how on earth we are going to make it through this. I know it's by taking a minute at a time, but it feels so huge right now.

Oh, Trazzle, I am so very sorry.

This bastard disease makes me so angry.

It shouldn't be this way.

Sending you love. You don't know me, I know nothing I say can help, but I am thinking, thinking and thinking of you.

I remember your very first thread about your lovely blue-eyed boy.

So sorry to read this. Have followed your posts from the start and have thought of you both now and then. There are no words that will make any of it better but hopefully you know there are people out there thinking of you

Pancakeflipper · 03/06/2017 00:19

Trazzle - regularly read your posts about your boy on here. I am so sorry to read it's palliative care for Joseph. I hope he keeps pain-free as much as possible. He's one brave boy.

Zoflorabore · 03/06/2017 00:20

So sorry to read your update, life is so bloody cruel.

Holding you and your lovely boy in my thoughts, my fil has leukaemia ( ALL ) and we as a family have seen the reality of it and it's utterly shit and unfair.
From one mum to another I send you the biggest hug xx

Trazzletoes · 03/06/2017 00:27

Ah Trazzle, that is awful. I think of you and your family often. Joseph is a similar age to my dd so I can empathise totally. Praying for you all x
