Spots like chickenpox but not chicken pox??

My dd1(5) has these spots in odd places. 3 on lower back, 1 on bottom, 2 on foot and maybe a couple more in different places. Last month she had a cluster of them on her upper fore arm. Every time they happen I think ooh is this chicken pox but nothing comes of it. Any ideas what it could be? She hasn't and chicken pox yet.

She has them on various parts of her body, bottom, foot, ankle, side,lower back. She's not poorly. They look just like chickenpox but she had them a few weeks ago too, that re in a cluster on her upper fore arm.

My sons were 6 and 3 when they developed very mild rashes that the GP diagnosed as chicken pox. We thought we'd got off lightly! Then exactly four weeks later they developed the real chicken pox!

(We were actually only at the GP for the three year old's eczema but she saw the spots on them both and said it was CP.)

I've never found an explanation for why this happened. Were both rashes chicken pox? If the first was just a pre-cursor, why did it then take four weeks for the main rash to appear when the incubation period is nowhere near that long? Was it lying dormant?! I may never know!

But perhaps what your daughter is experiencing is similar? A light pre-cursor to the real thing?!

We have a third child now and will be getting him immunised privately. He has eczema like his brother and chicken pox + eczema = one horrible experience. Sad

Molluscum? We had this exact scenario with dd2 this time last year, she had tiny blisters on her leg but no other symptoms. GP confirmed chicken pox after 36 hours or so (I wanted to know whether to isolate or not) but then they gradually disappeared. Since then they have come and gone (she has one on her arm at the moment). Dd1 came out with molluscum a few months after the initial cluster and sometimes the crops that come out on dd2's legs look very similar but then unlike molluscum come and go but I've been wondering if it's a similar virus? Confused

My child had a pre-chicken pox chicken pox like rash too.

I also thought she got off lightly. Then 2 weeks later the real thing appeared.

I sometimes wonder if the body deals with the virus differently in some kids

The first two aren't very clear and that's what we have at the moment.

The third photo of the cluster was the ones she had a few weeks ago.

I've seen molluscum and I'm not sure it's that.

Doesn't look like molluscum at all and molluscum hang around for months and months.

I don't think they look like chicken pox either. They look more like an allergic reaction or bites.

Have you taken her to the gp?

I've got a telephone appt today.
I've de flead the cat but he's not showing signs of fleas.

Looks like bites might be in grass -

Get a bug spray- and give her a blast

Antihistamines are good for the itch

Everyone gets bitten - it's how you react - I get bitten by anything I taste nice DD and DS do too - DH and DD2 don't react

Could also possibly be impetigo.

DS had it years ago and I thought it was bites or chicken pox. I finally took him to the doctors and he was given antibiotics. I left it far too long though Sad

Does she get eczema? When ds eczema flares up it sometimes gets infected and he ends up with what look like chicken pox spots all over him, even on the clear skin. They look like blisters but the fluid inside them has a greenish tint rather than being clear/white like the chicken pox ones.

Doctor rang and diagnosed flea bites over the phone!
She said it's a wait and watch thing .

Have to say I'm not convinced though.
If it was hives would they treat it? They don't itch or bother her. But I'm worried as to why they keep coming back. There's no new ones since yesterday and they are still the same

Frontline about once a month. Hubby says we would know if he had fleas? He'd be scratching?

Not necessarily. We can't use Frontline here. I believe fleas in some areas aren't affected by it. I would consult a vet.
We use Advocate. Every 4 weeks. Always note it on the calendar.
Have a look in cat's coat. Any tiny brown specks like mud? That's flea dirt.

They look like insect bites to me. I used to be around cats growing up and if I'm bitten by fleas I don't have much of a reaction. Maybe get your carpets steamed cleaned to make sure you've eliminated any reservoirs of flea larvae

Frontline has lost its mojo in a lot of regions of the UK, the fleas are becoming resistant to it (according to a cattery-owning friend of ours). You might need to check with your local vet.

You can check to see if your cat has fleas - some cats don't scratch at first.

Either A - Hold the cat over a piece of damp white kitchen paper and rub vigorously (the cat that is, not the paper). If you get little dark spots that slowly turn red, then that is flea poo and the cat has fleas.
Or B - let the cat sleep on something black like an old t-shirt. If you find tiny white specks left behind then they are flea eggs.
