Best sun cream?

Ds2 is 7mo and has recently been diagnosed with eczema.

Any suggestions for the best us cream to use on him? We currently have banana boat but it makes his eczema rash worse.

TIA

We have always used Aveeno spray suncream but have recently moved to boots soltan spray suncream - the P whatever ones made DSs skin terrible but we didn't ever try anything else.

IsThatTrue · 15/07/2013 13:14

Thank you I will look into those :)

Boots soltan baby is good and easy to rub in, the all day kids is good too but harder to rub in.

Ultrasun is amazing, most sun creams itch me crazy, we're on our second year of ultrasun now. Factor 50 on all of us every morning, job done. And I have eczema.

IsThatTrue · 15/07/2013 14:20

Thanks PM mummy, I'll have a look at ultrasun, sounds great. :)

Thanks crazycat I'll try the boots first as I can get it tomo (before dreaded sports day, with poor ds2 out on the field for 2hrs) if he doesn't react badly I'll stick with that as its much better on my purse than the others. Obviously if he reacts then I'll have to look at the more expensive options.

Ultrasun all the way, never use anything else for all the family, wish I'd discovered it years ago

Bonsoir · 16/07/2013 17:45

Avene or La Roche Posay - though Avene is best.

crazykat · 16/07/2013 22:07

Boots also do a sensitive one for kids but I can't remember if its for babies too. FWIW DS1 has eczema and has been fine with the baby and kids ones. Wish I'd tried them first as it cost me a fortune on other one that caused a reaction.

Boots tend to have soltan half price in the summer too and you can get points. It helps off-set the cost of having to try different sun cream/shower gel etc to find one that doesn't irritate his skin.

Well I tried soltan yesterday (baby version) and his rash is awful today! :(

I'm rubbish at this, everything I do makes his skin worse :(

My son has eczema to. We love Australian brand SunSense. I can be provide on prescription/free as well.

IsThatTrue · 18/07/2013 19:26

Thanks!

Well today I slathered him in aloe Vera gel instead of his emollient cream, and his rash was a lot better. I've found aloe Vera sun cream online and I'm going to give that a try. If not I'll look into the others :)

Everyone is raving about Aloe vera gel being good for everything at the moment.

IsThatTrue · 18/07/2013 19:42

I use it on my thighs if they get sore coz I'm a fat cow and had a lightbulb moment, and it worked (fx it keeps working)

I was told it was good for under boobage heat rash *True.

MTBer · 21/07/2013 20:28

Try Sudocrem Sun Cream Mousse Factor 50. My DS and DD have sensitive skin and it works on them (and me too!). It is not sticky either.
