Hi, continuity thread for my little DS (3) who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma last week. Much gratitude for all the support the Trazzles have received. You nasty nest of vipers, you Grin

Oooo, it's strange! Will watch again next week.
How's your day been?

dikkertjedap · 06/11/2012 21:25

Hope you have all had a good day and Joe has been able to go home tonight.

BuffyFairy · 06/11/2012 22:39

Hi there, sorry to hear about the C diff. I hope Joseph is responding to treatment well.

Fantastic news about the nursery fees! How lovely of them and a weight off your mind.

Trazzletoes · 06/11/2012 22:55

Shifty isn't it?! I secretly love it though. And totally heart Monroe.

We're home. Had a good chat today with Joe's consultant who said that it isn't true that the nhs provides no treatment on relapse. Also, some of the clinical trials for relapse are starting here imminently. The upshot is that we probably won't be setting a fund up because we don't think it's necessary at the moment. On the plus side, we keep the house! Every cloud...

The consultant was very reassuring. Well, as reassuring as one can be when you're faced with the biggest killer of children in the country, discounting accidents.

Tests start this week to get an idea of what the chemo is doing .

I'm hoping not to have exhausted all our supplies of good luck already, as my work have been absolutely outstanding. They are incredibly supportive. It's nice to feel like a valued employee.

Joseph has been quiet and sleepy but we hope he'll improve in the next few days, as usual. Apparently his c. diff infection is the mildest they have ever seen... Am not complaining!!!

Just checking in to see how things are going - glad things are going well (you know what I mean) & here's hoping the good news continues.

All the best for a restful night. Smile

BarmeeMarmee · 06/11/2012 23:23

Trazzle good to hear positive things-long may that continue! Still thinking of you all and splodging here in Bucks.

toomuch2young · 06/11/2012 23:23

Hey am thinking of your family and Joseph daily and regular candle lighting.
Great that your work and nursery are being helpful and understanding, I'm sure they all care about you guys an awful lot and value you greatly. Even better about all treatment being available on the NHS.
I'm sure his quietness is his body resting as brave Joe battles the evil cancer. Your little boy is a shiny knight already.
Please, please let us know if we can send him anything to brighten his day up, or any help Santa needs Wink

BuffyFairy · 06/11/2012 23:56

Ooh lots of positive news. So happy he's home again.

Great news about the clinical trials in the UK although I hope Joe never had a need for them.

Has your work allowed you a Sabbatical?

Enjoy the home time with your gorgeous cheeky monkeys x

NorksAreMessy · 07/11/2012 07:45

Hooray for small victories.
Here's hoping for more today.

thewhistler · 07/11/2012 08:39

Trazzle, good news and splodges of light from Westminster for you. Joe has obviously got a tough system to battle the c diff so well, may it stand him in good stead.

And glad your work is being so supportive.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/11/2012 08:47

Morning lovely Trazzle, my splodge of light shines brightly here in SW London.

Interesting fact. My computer didn't recognise the word splodge. It does now, I have made it learn the word. Smile

Big hugs

Pistey

So glad to hear that the nursery manager and your work are being supportive and that the consultant was at least fairly positive. Anything less to worry about at the moment must be a relief.

Fingers and toes firmly crossed for the best possible news from the tests.

I hope Joe feels better soon and is demanding Gregg's sausage rolls and Maryland cookies for breakfast Grin

Your DD is absolutely gorgeous. Hope she is feeling better too.

ToffeeWhirl · 07/11/2012 09:12

That's great news about the nursery fees and about the NHS treatment for relapses. And also that Joseph's infection is so mild Smile. I hope you have a lovely day at home with your two gorgeous children.

AuldAlliance · 07/11/2012 09:22

Glad there are some silver linings...hope Joe's lethargy is indeed because his army is battling the invaders.
xx

ShiftyFades · 07/11/2012 09:40

Morning Trazzle, how was your night? Did Joseph sleep well?

I'm glad the consultant has put your mind a little at ease about trials etc.

I was intrigued by the "he's a Grimm" comments in the programme, it's obviously very important to the baddies, I await next weeks instalment Grin

We are trying to catch up with Strike Back: Vengeance, there's a guy in it that shags a different woman every week, I'm almost fed up of seeing his naked bum, even though it is nice and tight Wink

Trazzletoes · 07/11/2012 12:22

Shifty a Grimm is this family of people destined to fight the Wessen (or however it's written). The, er, Brothers Grimm were, er, Grimms (unsurprisingly, eh!) and so is Nick. He doesn't always have to kill Wessen, but they are all scared of him.

OP posts:
ShiftyFades · 07/11/2012 13:34

I got the Grimm bit but didn't know who they were (in terms of them being automatically scared of him).

They were pretty "grim" baddies Wink
I could have nightmares Grin about their faces!!! Do they feature in each episode?

mamalula · 07/11/2012 14:33

Sending good, positive, healing thoughts from St Paulet in the South of France. Bonne chance!

Trazzletoes · 07/11/2012 15:57

The faces of all the Wessen change when they get mad/excited, yes. I guess they are pretty creepy!!!

OP posts:
bobkate · 07/11/2012 23:07

Just checking in - hope Joe is doing ok. Thinking of you all and letting the talk of Grimms and Wessens go right over my head! I have no clue whatsoever!! x

Trazzletoes · 07/11/2012 23:10

J has had epic diarrhoea today (no doubt due to antibiotics) which went ALL over his Hickman line... Another impromptu trip to the hospital... Although the nurses promise me that we aren't the most regular visitors, I'm not certain I believe them! He's been off colour all day and basically spent the day in his bed, not eating or drinking. Hoping for a bit of improvement tomorrow.

OP posts:
ToffeeWhirl · 07/11/2012 23:17

Poor Joseph Sad. I hope he feels better tomorrow. And I hope you manage some rest tonight.

onedev · 07/11/2012 23:32

Poor Joseph. Hope things get better tomorrow.

BuffyFairy · 07/11/2012 23:34

Oh no, poor Joe. Hope he improves quickly x

Cadmum · 08/11/2012 02:13

Poor Joseph and poor you. I hope he picks up quickly.
