DS is 12 months. Fine all day but didn't eat his tea, very unusual. Put him to bed at 6pm as I thought he was overtired and noticed he seemed a bit warm and his hands were shaking. This stopped after his milk so wondered if it was blood sugar/hunger making his hands shake. Took ages to go to sleep, no crying just whimpering. 8.30 his temp was 39.8 so gave him calpol. Midnight violently sick everywhere, gave him water and stripped the bed and he went back down. 1.30am more sick and temp 39.9. Don't know what to do. DH abroad and DD 2.8 asleep. I'm panicking he's getting hotter.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that Emma - I too remember reading this when he was first ill. Glad to hear he's getting good care and hope they get to the bottom of it soon.

Glad you are seeing a great team - as you know DD was under them when she had kidney failure. Hopefully they will be able to help in the longer term. At least you have some information now and they can make a better plan.

If he is on anti-biotics long(ish) term you may want to give him pro-biotics supplements. We use 'Restore, from Protexin, in the past we had others, I think it was called 'DECT' but I couldn't find it this time round. I think there are lots of different ones. It builds up the darm flora as anti-biotics kill good and bad bacteria. Alternatively, you could give (quite large) amounts of a good quality bio-yogurt every day. I hope he feels better soon.

Thanks everyone. dikkertjedap that's really helpful. I try to give him live yoghurt every day but it depends on this mood whether he eats it or not so thanks for the info.
