Best is Tiddler
Worst is Superworm

whosaidtha · 27/07/2023 19:49

I like Charlie cooks favourite book.
Hate the smartest giant in town.

Duckduckie · 27/07/2023 19:49

I cant stand the smeds and smoos, I gave it away as I hated it so much.

Hard to pick favourite; Snail and the whale 🐳

aunttrixie · 27/07/2023 19:51

The best is definitely The Everywhere Bear, which just rhymes so beautifully and is such a lovely story, closely followed by Tiddler!

Worst is The Scarecrows Wedding, or maybe The Smeds and the Smoos

AlwaysColdHands · 27/07/2023 19:51

Rosie’s Hat
the Everywhere Bear

watersprites · 27/07/2023 19:52

Not read them all but Room on the Broom. Hate Spinderella

Namechange828492 · 27/07/2023 19:54

Faves
Stickman
Room on the broom
Zog and the flying doctors
Tiddler

Worst
Highway rat
What the ladybird heard.
Possibly superworm

olivo · 27/07/2023 19:54

Interesting to hear some titles that must be new(er); my children are in their mid teens now!

metellaestinatrio · 27/07/2023 19:55

The Everywhere Bear
Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book

I also like Room on the Broom but my DCs find it scary (wimps!)

stressbucket1 · 27/07/2023 19:55

Oh I can't really think of a worst. I did love the rhyming rabbit, it just amused me.

hlc123 · 27/07/2023 19:56

I find it really hard to pick a favourite but will go with Tiddler. Worst is Spinderella then The Highway Rat

YukoandHiro · 27/07/2023 19:56

The worst is the Scarecrow's Wedding.

Wtf is going on, there's absolutely insane stuff in there about dating, smoking, "bad boys". I understand there's a message underneath it but it's not age appropriate and so regressively heteronormative about attraction.

My fave is The Everywhere Bear. Also Paper Dolls obvs.

HamstersAreMyLife · 27/07/2023 19:57

Favourite is a squash and a squeeze, least favourite is the paper dolls, I'm still traumatised. Most others I find a bit meh.

FoodFann · 27/07/2023 19:57

Don’t love Donaldson but Squash and a Squeeze is okay.

I can’t stand Monkey Puzzle. It goes on and on and on. So bloody boring 😆

FoodFann · 27/07/2023 19:57

Oh yeah Paper Dolls is probably her best one IMHO

Jigglypufff · 27/07/2023 19:59

Favourite: hospital dog.
Worst: Stickman

Nomoredamnmats · 27/07/2023 19:59

To read aloud: Gruffalo/G’s Child, the Highway Rat because I can unleash my inner Tim Curry. Gruffalo is my grandson’s go to for a story and a cuddle. Paper Dolls makes me well up.
DH hates Superworm because “It’s not realistic.”

Mummy2022FT · 27/07/2023 20:01

I seriously need to read Paper Dolls!

Squash and a squeeze and the smartest giant in town - neither of them scan properly and it drives me crackers!

SpikeWithoutASoul · 27/07/2023 20:02

Tiddler is genius.

A few of them are dull and I would inwardly groan when they were chosen.

Scarecrow’s wedding is probably the worst one.

enemaofthestate · 27/07/2023 20:02

I love Charlie Cook, especially how the drawing of the little page on each characters book matches the next page in the actual book, so clever.

I also love the Everywhere Bear and The Flying Bath.

Least favourite is Highway Rat.

Whyohwhyohwhy123 · 27/07/2023 20:02

Worst Charlie cooks favourite book
best is the ugly 5

NerrSnerr · 27/07/2023 20:03

My favourites are
A squash and a squeeze
Stick man
Monkey puzzle
Toddler

Worst
Charlie Cook's Favourite Book

FirstFallopians · 27/07/2023 20:04

Love the Smeds & The Smoos- we’re in NI and have a mixed marriage so the sentiment is very close to home with that one!

Also find the Highway Rat really fun to read.

I hate The Smartest Giant in Town. So boring, I’ve now got a Pavlovian response every time DS reaches for it from the shelf.

Sewingdufus · 27/07/2023 20:06

I love a Squash and a Squeeze and the Gruffalo.

can’t abide Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book or Stickman.
