My Grandson and Granddaughter both play Soccer as they live in America. Also they do love their computer games. My Son does limit this and they love their outdoor activities. Very lucky Grandchildren.

During half term my son, 9, loves cycling, throwing stones on the beach, computer games, making stories with his younger brother and doodling.

A few things planned. We've got a make a volcano kit to do, baking, making wrestling belts (only out of paper/cardboard) and Lego building for starters!

DS loves getting involved with sports activities on offer at our leisure centre at half term - he likes table tennis and trampolining a lot. He also likes visiting museums as there are often special activities put on during the holidays.

One of our fav things to do in the holidays is go to the beach with a picnic. We find a nice quiet spot to gather up drift wood and make a fire and we sit wind rain or shine and toast marshmallows. The kids love hunting for wood and it takes up most of the day. It feels good to spend quality tome together.

Our boys will be reading, going to the park, long walks, doing crafts, building lego and I'll be trying to keep them off gadgets as much as possible. We are staying at home so hoping for some good weather. We have a few activities planned including a meet up with their old NCT group and a free theatre show which is part of the local arts week.

We have two dogs, so my son will go for long walks everyday. I will also borrow some Blu-rays, there are quite a lot of new films he has not seen yet. And we will spend time in the library.

This half term I have to be away for work, and dh can't take leave so ds will be going to sports camp, and they are having a special halloween day on the Friday with dressing up, apple bobbing etc

If we'd had the time off together, it would be cycling, walking with the dogs on the hills, swimming and halloween crafts

My children love to get on their bikes and cycle to see their grandparents, and settle down with some good books if the weather is not so great.

Ours like painting. We put a big mat down, get out the acrylic paint and get some cheap canvases from The Works. They like doing 'proper painting'.

Halloween fun, park and computer games

I always look for junior writing competitions - it gets my niece and nephew's creativity going....

DS is quite happy with a ball in the garden and a few books to read, but this half-term we go to a football match and wall-climbing with his friends as well.

for me its got be a trip to London to the natural history museum, take the train down to London then on the underground the kids love the big escalators that go so deep down in to the ground to the stations platform and the way there ears pop when the train travels down the tunnel into the station,then its just a short walk to the museum were one is greeted by the giant dinosaur skeleton, hours of fun looking around the museum and a packed lunch eaten in the basement rest area followed by a ice cream in the museums café, the prefect end to a great day out

Activities in woodlands (eg things arranged by national trust), science sets, days out, sports courses, and of course... Younger siblings!

Football courses are always a winner in this house. Also still a bit of moe "grown up" make & do and science kits

Cooking is a real favourite activity in our house.

My DD aged 10 will spend some of the time making the most of any dry weather to play with her friends in the local park and then we will be doing some baking ready for Christmas - making Christmas puddings and Christmas cakes. At the end of the half term we have a couple of family days out planned.

We'll be doing Halloween crafty things, decorating the house. Our gym membership is very useful over half term we can swim or play table tennis. Park and cycling if weather's nice, roller skating if not

My daughter loves baking with me. Her favourite recipe is chocolate chip cookies, the bigger the better!!

My son likes to see life outside London. I am taking him to visit Italy

Bike riding through the woods, stopping off to pick up interesting leaves and feathers. Building with Lego, reading books, watching DVDs, playing on the Wii or Kindle, playing with toy cars, baking buns, biscuits or scones and a trip to the seaside for a Halloween party.

1. A movie or day out at a theme-park - Alton Towers, Thrope Park, etc. - are always popular, though possible crowded during the holidays.
2. Trek through the local woods - a challenge making it through one end of the dense woods to the next, and to make it as exciting as possible, a treasure hunt set-up with tracking/trailing activities.
3. On a rainy day, board games always go down a treat, especially as an activity filler if the rain looks like it might clear up in an hour or two. The classics - Snakes & Ladders, Battleships, Connect 4, Guess Who, Scrabble - much better if you're lucky to have a range to choose from.
4. And if you want to just leave the kids to it, they will not say no to soccer matches with their friends, a battle-royale with their Transformers (boys) or a Bratz dolls fashion show (for the girls), or, dare I say it, a few family challenges on the PlayStation / Nintendo Wii!

My boy is pretty much Lego obsessed so a half term holiday is a good excuse to build a BIG kit!! We are visiting family too and I'm hoping the weather will be good enough to get out on our bikes a few times 😀

They love Hamma beads - hours of entertainment. Its a holiday only activity in our house as it takes ages. I think its the relative peace and quiet, and chance to be creative that appeals
