Wishes for Baby is the perfect book for friends and family to write their hopes, dreams and messages of love for a new baby. This beautiful keepsake book, lovingly illustrated by Sarah Ward, is ideal for sharing with guests at a baby shower, christening or on that special first visit. With charming quotations and adorable art, this innovative record book will be treasured for years to come.

Wishes for Baby is one of four new books out in the To Baby, With Love series published by Little Tiger in February 2016.

Share the best advice you received as a new parent for a chance to win a copy of all four new titles in the To Baby, With Love series which includes Wishes For Baby, Peekaboo Baby (with mirror!), Hello Baby and Goodnight Baby, plus a £100 voucher for Mamas & Papas.

Sleep when the baby sleeps, eat when the baby eats, do housework when the baby does housework!

MiddleClassProblem · 04/02/2016 11:49

There is no set way to do things, follow your gut and see what works

nehagarg · 04/02/2016 12:20

Its completely normal to feel overwhelmed. Take a deep breath and dont be ashamed to ask for help

CheeseEMouse · 04/02/2016 13:14

Everything gets easier, and you will get sleep again. One day.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 04/02/2016 13:18

It's your baby and Mum knows best!

Talcott2007 · 04/02/2016 13:20

Me: I just don't know what to expect - how I am supposed to know how to look after a baby!?

My Mum: That's OK - Your baby has no idea what to expect from you either - after all neither of you has done any of this before. It's the 1st time for you you both. You and your baby will learn everything you need to know together.

00100001 · 04/02/2016 13:44

Your baby hasn't read the baby books, so do what works and is easy!

truckingirl · 08/02/2016 17:08

Let the grandparents spoil you both 😘

Tabby33 · 08/02/2016 17:12

Just remember they grow up so fast, so enjoy every moment and keep a fun journal of their first year. Then when your thinking 'why am i doing this' re-read some of those amazing moments.

So true and works amazingly.

Booklover123 · 08/02/2016 17:14

Please don,t betoo anxious and worried. Relax and enjoy your baby and remember happy and joyful times as their babyhood will whizz by.

CordeliaScott · 08/02/2016 17:19

Get out of the house. Yes it can take hours to get the baby ready, pack the changing bag, realise that you have to change the baby again before finally leaving the house but you will feel better for it. Oh and ignore anyone who tuts if your baby dares to cry in public, that's what babies do.

Blessingsgalore5 · 08/02/2016 17:22

Every thing is just a blip in time, it may not feel it at the time but when you look back its just a blip... Remembering and reminding yourself of that now will help you to know it won't last forever!

Roseberrry · 08/02/2016 17:28

Smile and nod at everyone's advice, and then just do whatever it was you were going to do anyway.

It's one of the few bits of advice I listened to. Everyone has a different approach to parenthood so you have to do what feels right for you.

Zephyroux1 · 08/02/2016 17:34

The magical words 'this too will pass!' And boy it does!

Goonergirl1 · 08/02/2016 17:36

If you are both alive at the end of the day, it's a good day. If you manage to get dressed, it's an excellent day Smile

barricade · 08/02/2016 17:59

Best piece of advice? When the baby falls asleep, MAKE SURE YOU GET SOME SLEEP AT THE SAME TIME, TOO!

Smile
StickChildNumberTwo · 08/02/2016 18:06

Listen politely to the endless advice you will receive, but ignore it unless it sounds useful. Same goes for what the books say.

And seconding 'this too will pass'.

LeighAO · 08/02/2016 18:24

Everyone has been full of advice, some of it great, some of it less so! But the best advice has been to 'trust your own instincts'. It's so easy to second-guess everything you do, especially with so much (often contradictory) advice out there but what works for one Mum doesn't always work for you so trusting yourself to make the right decision for your baby will leave you and baby so much more relaxed and happy.

carz1985 · 08/02/2016 18:33

Trust what you think is best for your baby as its your baby noone else's.when I had my first was sleep when baby sleeps but you cant do that when you have more kids.

loosechange · 08/02/2016 18:42

Choose two people whose advice you will value, and to all others who offer unsolicited/unhelpful/annoying advice, reply "Oh, that's interesting. I'll think about that." Or "Mmmm," if you can't even be bothered with the first.

diddy92 · 08/02/2016 19:20

The best advice I was given is probably quite an obvious one - every baby is different, so find methods that work for you and your baby, not what everyone else says to do

Tadorna · 08/02/2016 19:52

Treasure and remember all the special moments you have and they will help you on the difficult days

Sheri1 · 08/02/2016 20:03

Be kind to yourself

Mummageddon · 08/02/2016 20:06

Smile and nod.
It's all just a phase.. and
Enjoy it because it goes quickly!

EwelinaMay1979 · 08/02/2016 20:08

Make sure you go out with the baby outside into the fresh air every day. It is good for the baby and you ( good way to get fit :)
