"I love You Forever" and "Goodbye Mog"

splatapus · 25/09/2011 21:05

No Matter What and Goodbye Mog both make me "read a bit wobbly" as DD puts it. :o

Dr seuss - Oh the places you'll go.

So sad but so true.

CMOTdibbler · 25/09/2011 21:09

The Christmas Miracle of Jonathon Toomey makes my cry all the way through - its a christmas book, so should only be out in December but ds loves it and I sob through it.

Iggly · 25/09/2011 21:10

I love Once There Were Giants. I did have a tear in my eye reading it to DS once - the bit where the girl looks out for her mum when she's at preschool? I said to DS "she misses her mummy", and he nodded and pointed at himself as if to say me too :( he's not even 2 yet! I felt guilty cos I work part time

thefirstMrsDeVere · 25/09/2011 21:12

That one about Gilbert the shark. I didnt realise what it was about until too late.

If I was the sort to cry I would at that book.

Mummy loves me. Its a dear little book and I bought it for DS2 when DD was sick and I had to keep leaving him to go into hospital with her. I cant even look at the bloody thing now.

Naughty Kitten. I can still hear my darling DD's little voice saying 'Naughty Kitten' as the punch line to each page when she was tiny Sad

We have a book (Floss?) about an old border collie, makes me sob every time. The children never even notice ...

Appuskidu · 25/09/2011 21:16

I love Once There Were Giants.

Ooh, this always gets me, too!

There's one about a Patchwork quilt that has me all wobbly, too!

Actually-I cry at adverts...

TeamDamon · 25/09/2011 21:17

The Mousehole Cat brings a tear to my eye...

Yourefired · 25/09/2011 21:19

I love you to the moon and back

tiredfeet · 25/09/2011 21:22

I had a tear in my eye at the end of "where the wild things are" the other day

pearlgirl · 25/09/2011 21:28

I love you forever gets me every time - partly because we were going through the reversal of parent/child roles the first time we read it and it brings all those feelings back.

Danny the champion of the world, at the end, also. Where he says 'what I have been trying to tell you all along is that my father was the most amazing man....'

Love You Forever

Cry like a baby...

I bought it for my mum years ago.. and my children.. made a song of the main, repeated theme, that my older-and oh-so-cynical children still recite.. Grin

DorothyGherkins · 25/09/2011 21:45

I could never read the ending of Charlottes Web out loud........
