What are your weekend food & drink plans?

I love food and drink. What are you planning to consume this weekend?

Today I had fruit and yoghurt, cappuccino, chicken wrap and planning to have spicy sausages with homemade cheesy croquettes and corn on the cob. Plus loads of wine.

@JoleneJoleneJoleneJoleneJolene I basically follow this recipe but I use the frozen garlic and ginger blocks and add peas and a totally non traditional oxo cube! Probably frowned upon on here but I really like tinned potatos in it, I just think the texture is perfect when cooked down in the sauce 🙈. I also use fresh tomatoes which I peel and then mash down rather than the tin and a bit of tomato puree.

You do realise people with kids eat too, you could have posted this in Chat.

😂😂😂😂

@CrystalSingerFan we’ve cruised with porridge & fruit too - chilly Scandinavian tours are much better with a bellyful of the good stuff 😋

Coldslaw was v simple & just made with fridge ingredients; a couple of grated carrots, 1/3 shredded sweetheart cabbage, 4 shallots & a grated eating apple. Squeeze of fresh lemon (leftover from G&Ts and looking for a purpose) and a generous quantity of Hellmans. So fresh & virtuous, it almost made up for the pork pie!

Best wishes for your remaining poussin pieces.

Thanks. They are boiling in the stock saucepan as we speak, ready for tomorrow.

I like the sound of your coleslaw. I tend not to bother with onion or apple. (Posh. Practically a Waldorf.) and (TIP FOR SMALL PORTION PEOPLE) use a couple of finely chopped brussel sprouts in season rather than white cabbage.

CleanSkin · 19/09/2026 22:40

Oh my word @CrystalSingerFan yes - I almost made a Waldorf! Will look in the depths of the cupboards for some nuts tomorrow, there are certainly pistachios & possibly cashews in there, but the walnuts are in the freezer in cake form Cake
Enjoy your soup x

Last night I had a massive MASSIVE portion of halloumi gyros, it was so good and I slept so well after it! My friend and I had planned gelato afterwards but we couldn’t!

This morning I had some nice coffee in the cafetière, fruit juice and a spoon of biscoff pre gym and a big bowl of porridge post gym. The porridge was actually quite disappointing I’ll be honest.

Then an M&S cheese and onion twist in the car, followed by a flat white and corner of my dad’s cinnamon swirl at a local place.

For tea I made pulled mushroom and black bean quesadillas with a massive dollop of sour cream - and of course obligatory weekend Coke Zero!

Tomorrow I’ll have more coffee, juice and biscoff before the gym and I’m fancying eggs on sourdough afterwards.

Not too sure what I’ll have for lunch but I’ll have the other half of the mushroom and black bean quesadillas and another Coke Zero tomorrow night.

Oh and I’ve got some nice rasps and nectarines in the fridge for a snack.

Waitrose delivery every saturday morning of their:

fresh olive bread - so good
a pastry... or two...or three
lamb cutlet for the dog
plus general groceries.

Lovely coffee with my new bean to cup and fancy monmouth coffee

Every Sunday afternoon I make a cocktail - flavour of the month is toffee apple martini.

V boring this weekend. Coffee and a pastry before my language class, tuna wholemeal rolls and fruit before the hairdressers, dinner not decided yet.
