Why is so much of the judgement towards CF people from conservative men?

In my experience, the most vitriolic criticism I get and see towards other CF women like me comes from men, typically conservative men and this instance is just once example.

A 29-year old woman posted a TikTok about her free and easy Saturday after a late night at a Beyonce concert the night before. She had a lie-in, planned a rewatch of the Real Housewives and learning to cook a new recipe.

She described in her video how she was enjoying her free and easy day and appreciating where she was in life-even if it wasn't where she thought she'd be at 29 or where society thought she should be.

Matt Walsh, with the Daily Wire, a right-wing, Christian conservative decided to take her innocent TikTok video and share it to his 2.4m X (formerly Twitter) followers and called her "stupid" and her life "depressing," as it didn't revolve around a "family."

His followers proceeded to send her death threats and abuse. He has only doubled down on his statements.

I wish I could say that he was an isolated incident-but it's really not. Anytime a woman, and it's always a woman, shares how happy and free she is without children on SM, men like to spend their time telling that woman she'll die alone with cats (don't threaten us with a good time) how miserable she obviously is and everything is else is just "cope."

This is coming from a man who, among his co-hosts at the Daily Wire, admits he can't do his own laundry or dishes and has six kids who his wife, no doubt, has to do all the care for.

So many men want to tell women how to live our lives and are mad when they can't or when they see a woman who is living her life for her, and not in service of a man or his kids.

Childfree Woman Makes Post about Lazy Sat...She set off the Conservatives 😬😬

@Julia Mazur had the NERVE to have a lazy Sat after a Beyonce concert and she had the Conservative side of social media come for her. #childfree #childfreeby...

@fitzwilliamdarcy It’s about the fact that they’re making themselves inaccessible to be used by men.

This is a slightly unfair characterisation of stay-at-home mothers, or mothers in general, don't you think?

Under patriarchy, women exist to be exploited by men for our reproductive capacity. This male oppression of women as a sex class is what Fitz is referring to. She's not attacking or criticising mothers.

Successful happy women, especially child free women and lesbians, are a dire threat to conservative men. Women are there to serve them and help them preserve the patriarchy. Successful happy women breed (not literally, but by example) other successful, happy women. These women question the patriarchy and in many cases are successful in knocking it down. When a conservative man meets a successful happy woman he feels the ground trembling beneath his feet.

If you think it's bad now, you should have been around back in the 70s!

And left wing men are no better, they are stripping us of our rights by a different route.

Men think of women as property. Leftwing men think that we are public property, each to be used by all men. Rightwing men think that we are private property, each to be used by one man. Both still think of us as property.

Women as emotional support humans and supporting "extras" to validate the feelings of bepenised trans people is an example of us being seen as public property. Women as egg donors and surrogate gestators is another example of us as public property.

Stokely Carmichael, prominent in the civil rights movement in America. 'The only position for women in the SNCC (Students Non-Violent Coordinating Committee in the 1960s) is prone.' There's even a thesis online about the patriarchy of the civil rights movement.

Nothings's changed.

And as they get older a lot of them laugh at it. That's even worse.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I have a child but I also have a very well paid and senior job and a SAHD husband. This is also apparently enraging to a lot of men.

Yes, this. (Sorry, I didn't see the reply as I don't have notifs on.)

I definitely don't think that all mothers or SAHMs are are people who are 'used by men'. I'm talking about the way conservative men in particular see the ability to have babies as a tool to keep women in what they see as their place. Women who choose not to use the ability to have babies - or indeed, women who choose not to have relationships or sex with men, full stop - are viewed as a threat to those conservative values, because those women cannot be put in "their place".

I certainly did not mean to suggest that childless/free women are better than mums (or lesbians than straight/bi/pan women) because they've chosen to free themselves from this particular bind imposed by the patriarchy. It's more of a comment on how those most invested in maintaining the patriarchy view women who make choices or live a lifestyle* that removes them from types of exploitation by men.

*I hate describing sexuality as a lifestyle but I hope what I mean is clear.

Anyway - apologies for the offence caused.

That quote was taken out of context, according to https://www.crmvet.org/disc/women2.htm

That's not to say that there aren't plenty of black men who want to replace white patriarchy with black patriarchy, but I don't think Carmichael was one of them.

It would be possible to pretend that I approve of women being property if one were to quote mine my observations about how some men think of us and misrepresent them as being my aspirations.

Prompted by a thread in Relationships about yet another "D" H who has been to a strip joint i commented one of the reasons these types of men dont like CF by choice women is its much easier for us to walk away when they pull something like that.

Bloody hell.

Heaven forbid that a woman have a long career in the performing arts.

'And yet FWR still seem to love Matt Walsh.'

He made a short film very effectively taking the piss out of the idea that a man can become a woman just by saying he identifies as one. He's solid on biological reality, but only because he's offended by the lies and the nonsense, not because he gives a fig about women. As others have said, he's an ultra conservative misogynist. He just happens to be the stopped clock that is right twice a day in this one issue.
