Bit pitchforky out there.

My mum and I are a pair of weirdos.
She is vocal about not giving two hoots wether she’s a granny or not, and that she’s actually quite enjoying riding around in her two seater convertible Mercedes, drinking champagne at lunchtime with her pals*, rather than providing childcare in her 60s.
*not at the same time, obvs

And agreed that the majority of Mumsnetters are amazing- I love it here.

Mine says she doesn't mind at all and wants me to do what makes me happy, but she also offered to do 5 days a week childcare ("plus any weekends you wanted!") if I changed my mind at any point... my sister's v much childfree, too, so she's out of luck on the grandchildren stakes. Maybe we should club together and get her a convertible!

She is, she’s my biggest supporter and I love her to pieces 🥰. My brother is CF as well so it’s just as well really.
I often wonder if people think about what the reality would be like when they say that. I know at least one granny who put a lot of pressure on her lesbian daughter to have a baby using those arguments, and now the baby is growing up and starting to answer back (although still very cute), she is now complaining about the amount of care she’s providing. It’s a huge commitment, especially when you are a bit older and less inclined to run around at the park.

My mum's only comment is that with my track record on house plants, she's relieved I don't plan to breed. 😁

Some of you don’t know how to childfree properly! Dentists and essays? No no we’re supposed be leading jet-setting lives - just back from Maldives holiday (business class of course), mimosa for breakfast, then off to have our fancy ladies who lunch, theatre break, Michelin dinner & cocktails, then all night dancing!!

Not me currently watching Love Island with the cat, finished a bowl of all bran. Struggling with insomnia and wondering how I’m going to manage at a big conference tomorrow 😂

My (also childfree) sister says black thumbs run in the family, though Mum was a good gardener in her day. I have managed to kill succulents, geraniums and cordylines. My sister has managed to kill roses.

My first reaction - "butter made from babies' bottoms??? 🤮🤮🤮"

😂 a woman I worked with a few years ago told me I was selfish for eating Pom bears with my lunch because there wouldn’t be enough for children and when I didn’t stop eating them she screamed (literally, people came down from the next floor up to find out what was going on) the word selfish at me and stormed off.

I'm expecting a wooden frame for my hammock to be delivered today, I'm going to the SuperU to buy a load of cat food as a feral cat momma (not kitten free) decided to move her kittens to next door's garden (they live in Montpellier and only come back twice a year, the neighbours not the kittens), then going to the cake van to buy cake and panini for lunch. Then coming home and will probably do a bit of weeding, a bit of digging up potatoes and then sit on my hammock when it gets here. It is so, so hot here.

I wish I'd had a childfree bingo card this week, everything would have been ticked off; including being accused of slagging off parents on here. Any backup for that assertion was, unsurprisingly, not forthcoming.

Anyone is welcome to post here provided they don't talk about being a parent (or step-parent) or having children.

😂 I should’ve! Or bought different crisps with my meal deal every day and asked her if they were selfish or not. Now I’ll never know if I’m more or less selfish for eating Pom bears than wotsits.

We are letting the side down by being sober enough to post on here. According to the Daily Mail we should all be totally pissed by this time of the morning.
