@BodegaSushi MN is asking for feedback in the Board title thread. My preference would be “childless/childfree MNetters”.

Yay! What great news to come home to today! I'm glad a name has been found that includes everyone whose life is without children, whether by choice or not.

I joined after my DH died suddenly and unexpectedly. I couldn’t sleep and needed company and distraction in the middle of the night. PenisBeaker got me through some dark times!

Wasnt this raised on the request thread? about the name and in the inference of "childfree" being a choice ...

This is a dick post. Wasn’t that the whole argument being made by people who were against this board?

Penisbeaker is what first brought me to mumsnet, and then I mostly loitered without posting for a really long time, not least because being childfree I wasn’t sure I was welcome.

Well this is exciting!

I originally found mumsnet about a decade ago when looking for 5:2 forums. I stayed for the conception boards, then the infertility boards throughout my IVF and miscarriage.

Oh, Jeez. I though MumsNot was great. Childfree Mumsnet Posters is less inclusive, if anything. How did two people complaining manage to do this?

Lemonchiffonpie I agree, MumsNot was so much better, how is a less-inclusive name better? @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet Is it possible to revert it and make the subtitle or explanation "for childfree/less women"? I thought the new name is the result of a misunderstanding!

When this idea of this board was being discussed, we were told that it would result in incels and anti-natalists descending upon MN.

It's been almost 24 hours since this board was created and our visitors have yet to arrive. Do you think they got lost? Did they fail to synchronise their satnavs? Have they been waylaid by those wily posters on the Chicken Keeping thread? Or perhaps they have discovered their spiritual home, AIBU?

No. We can have our board but we're not allowed to have our name because Reasons. (Those reasons can be found in the original discussion and a thread that was created to complain about the name MumsNot, which I thought brilliant.)

@Florissante we need someone that is working in a high office block to wave flag out of the window at they can all see us.

I'm glad this board exists. Everyone around me is having children atm and although I know it's not for us, I can't help out feel a bit left out and panicky... Like... I feel like the odd one out

Oh, man. If I said what I was thinking about that particular issue I would be banned for life and if I had children, they'd be banned, too, unto generations. 😀

I feel this. With some women having kids later, this phase also seems to go on forever - I’ve been losing friends to babyhood and childrearing for 10 years already, and I don’t anticipate it stopping for another 5.
