would love some advice, I saw a lady out today with what looked like a double buggy with another seat seeminly attatched on the side!!
I was in the car so didnt get a chance to talk to her.. has anyone seen these, would really suit me as i have 3 toddlers and one has to be always walking. Takes ages to get anywhere and I would love to walk further but cant..

Any advice.. and how much are second hand triple buggies anyway?
Thanks

Hello!

We've noticed that this thread is quite old now, and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing the top-performing buggies on the market to find the best double pushchairs for 2019.

Hope this helps! Flowers

My friend only has 8 seats will go and have a search.

mumlove · 06/06/2009 20:53

website says 8 aswell. here

mumlove · 06/06/2009 20:55

There is an option to have 9 though, check out the pics.

KatyMac · 06/06/2009 21:00

Ah so if I had an 8 seater would I be OK for the license etc?

I fancy the long wheel base

mumlove · 06/06/2009 21:05

When I next see my friend I will ask her for more info.

mumlove · 06/06/2009 21:07

Is there a VW garage near you to go and have a test drive and see if they can give you any info?

shoshe · 06/06/2009 21:07

Bongo like mine

KatyMac · 06/06/2009 21:15

Shoshe - can you buy a new(ish) one?

shoshe · 06/06/2009 21:19

mine is p reg, and i havnt seen anything younger about, but i must say very reliable

mumlove · 06/06/2009 21:22

We will have to make a list of suitable 1's that Katy can look around for

I still find my Zafira works ok for me but then I only have 7 in it maybe twice a week, and then only need 1 double buggy.

KatyMac · 06/06/2009 21:27

That wouldn't work - I need a no/little maintenance car

KatyMac · 06/06/2009 21:28

I will have 7 in maybe twice a week in the holidays (& occasional nights out )

shoshe · 06/06/2009 21:46

Katy I have had nothing go wrong with mine and it went through its mot staright through.

KatyMac · 06/06/2009 21:54

I'm getting rid of an 03

tommypickles · 07/06/2009 08:10

of course I would recommend my 807 first!!

But also Toyota previa.....very large boot even with all seats up. Don't think you can get it brand new....think they stopped making it a year or two ago.

Crysler voyager or grand voyager

Renault espace or grand espace.

I found the problem with the zafira was when I had 3 car seat strapped across the usual back seat it was almost inpossible to access the 6th and 7th seats in boot.

Theres no gap between the 2 back seats, so even if you open the boot the kids can't squeeze between to get in.

And if you want to let them in through the back doors you have to unbelt all the carseats so you can push the seats forward IYSWIM. The 3 back seats are a bench seat they're not seperate like in all the ones I've mentioned above.

Pain in the bum when I had 3 LO's in carseats in the middle row and then went to collect my own (much older) kids from secondary school.......they can't access the free seats through the boot and I'm not about to unbelt in the kids in the middle row!!! So my daughters had to climb over, not between, but over the seats in the boot, about half foot gap!!! Not impressed. And I felt like I was driving a blumming mickey mouse people carrier!! LOL

tommypickles · 07/06/2009 08:20

With my lovley new 807, I either open the boot and they can easily get in through the gap between the 2 seats, or press a button to open the electric sliding door (to make everyone ) and flip forward just the one seat to get access. Honeslty, it's such a lovely car and totally built for families/kids.

ELectric sliding doors, built in sunblinds, back of seat tables, heated elecric seats with 2 driver memeory, fridge, air con, electric wing mirrors that flip in at the touch of a button, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, charging points in the back for tv, nintendo ds's etc, and all kinds of cubby holes, straps and storage.

KatyMac · 07/06/2009 08:50

But is it worth buying for less than 5 weeks a year?

SillyMillysMummy · 08/06/2009 12:46

KatyMac, I have an ABC double, you can even turn it into a quad email me if you want any info, have upto date prices for them too, oh and i know of a second hand one

x

looneytune · 08/06/2009 13:14

SillyMilly - who has the 2nd hand one and how much???

HSMM · 08/06/2009 13:20

Have always avoided triple buggy like the plague (bad back).

I used to have an 8 seater Toyota Previa - bags of room for kids and at least 3 pushchairs. (now have a Toyota Estima, but preferred the previa)

alibubbles · 08/06/2009 13:40

I had a 7 seater Mercedes, infact 5 of them over the last 20 years. I now have a Kia Sedona, purely for childminding. The seats and pushchairs stay in the Kia all year round. I do not use it for personal use. ( I now have a Mercedes sports car for the weekend!) The Kia costs me £325 a year fully comprehensive with Michel Morton special childminder insurance, who guaranteee a 7 seater if your is off the road for any reason.

I have three child seats across the rear seat, then there are two captains seats in the centre row with isofix Britax Evolva's on them which can seat from 6 months to 12, without without the harness, and a booster in the front seat.

I picked it up last summer 2 years old with 10,000 miles on the clock, top of the range, all leather, air con, ipod, drop down DVD player etc etc. they were asking £13000 and I got it for £10k with 2 new tyres.

alibubbles · 08/06/2009 13:46

I have a Phil and Ted's double in the boot.
