Morning!

When Monday and Tuesday are over it feels like it is almost weekend... Well, maybe.

So far so good here. Have not broken my diet, DS still asleep, coffee is hot and I have only had to ask mindee once this morning not to jump up the stairs in case he hurts himself

Ok surreal, I just opened as well I had a feeling you would!, we will stay in yours this morning

(whispers) Are you talking to your DH yet?

mumsanutter · 19/11/2008 07:20

Ok, so I just replied to convileiences (god I wish I could spell!!) and now we are over here!!!

Hello ladies

No4 - did you say anything about the tv? How is ds?

Shoshe - sorry to hear that your cold has got you up early

Mums house is getting back to normal, except ds4 who is still extremely clingy. No news yet about when dh will be coming hame, so resigning myself to it still be dec! . Well not working today, so am going to take ds to nursery and then do the tesco run - joy

Shoshe · 19/11/2008 07:26

Did we make you run around Mums

NumberFour · 19/11/2008 07:31

LOL! Morning, Shoshe and Mumsanutter,

Up at 4! Yow, I know it is not by choice but that is hard going. Lovely to have no mindees today, Mumsanutter.

I have not said anything about the TV. Best not to, I reckon. And rightly or wrongly I do like watching TV and our new one is really gorgeous.....

Off to dry my hair and get ready for the day.

No.4, I am often up at that time to be honest, I suffer from pretty bad insomnia (do tend to get a lot of work done at that time tho,

Have learnt to live with it and just sleep at week end when I can, I have tried going to bed earlier, but I just wake earlier!

coolj · 19/11/2008 07:49

Morning everyone.

Just catching up to see how everyone is before my first mindee arrives at 8.20. We are off to a childminders toddler group this morning.

Hope you all have a good day and feel better to those who are poorly.

mumsanutter · 19/11/2008 07:58

yup, you made me exercise - it can't be good for me!!! On a plus side I lost 4lbs in weight last week, so my size 16 jeans are really quite baggy now - yippee!!! dh might come back to a new women - where can I find one!!!

Morning coolj, have a good time at group. I would of taken ds4 to my childming group today, but he is too clingy so neither of us would enjoy it!!

Shoshe · 19/11/2008 08:02

I have decided to be rude today and answer threads just how I initially feel instead of wording it nicely I have started with Scandles thread that is still going

SammyK · 19/11/2008 08:06

Morning everyone, just having a cuppa and waiting for mindee to arrive, e everyone has a good day - I can't decide what to do today yet!

mumlove · 19/11/2008 08:08

Morning everyone.

Have a busy day today. I have all 5 of my mindees plus DD today between 3.15 & 4pm so the walk home from school is going to be very noisy .

Did you all read a thread I started yesterday? here

Hope you all have a great day.

southernbelle77 · 19/11/2008 09:01

Morning morning!

I only have one mindee today now (SAHM that is) as one is ill and other coming another day. And mindee I do have is sleeping so it's lovely and quiet at the moment!

Just off to read other threads while I can because as much as I would love to, I really don't see the need to sit and watch a sleeping baby

KatyMac · 19/11/2008 09:41

Morning all

I'm getting better

DD should perhaps have gone to school today - but I'm being cautious because of her asthma

Hope everyone is feeling more tickety-boo

Catch you later

SammyK · 19/11/2008 09:45

I have just got a huge bouquet from one mindee and mum to cheer me up aftr my ofsted call yesterday.

Feel better about it all today - putting it behind me.

PinkChick · 19/11/2008 09:45

looneytune · 19/11/2008 10:10

OMG, OMG, OMG..........Ofsted said YES to my variation!!! I'll have 4 under 2's two days a week from next week!!! The mum is VERY happy

PinkChick · 19/11/2008 10:20

wow, your going to be busy chick!...under 2's??..i thought it was under 1's or under 5's???

looneytune · 19/11/2008 10:39

I know Yes, it's under 'Early Years' age......what I was saying is I was surprised they said yes as they are all so young (5 months, 10 months, 19 months and 21 months).

leonifay · 19/11/2008 11:33

hi everyone. i've been up since 5 panicking about the la coming round today to do a welcome visit and to make sure all my paperwork is up to date
i was also wondering if any of you could help me with a problem. i have my 18month brother staying with me for 2 weeks while py parent take a well deserved cruse. the problem is hes terrified of hoovers. if he sees one he runs to the other side of the room and wont come back untill its been put in the cupbord. he cant even listen to it without having a head fit. i cant not hoover for 2 weeks! any ideas how to overcome this fear?
btw my dad usually takes him out while my mum hoovers
thanks all and i hope you are all feeling 100% soon

KatyMac · 19/11/2008 11:49

I'd leave the hoover in the room just there for a bit

Do you have any older children who can hoover while the lo watches

DH used to dance around the room to music carry the (not yet scared) baby and then while they were happy - suddenly start hoovering, it worked for him

looneytune · 19/11/2008 12:49

I agree with Katy. My ds1 used to be scared and we always did a 'chasing' game when I did it and not he always wants me to hoover so he can run around lol I have a mindee whose the same with her parents but although nervous with me, she's ok now as long as she knows I'm about to do it. She stays overnight and I hoover after tidying up each day so she had to get used to it, plus her mum was grateful for me to get her used to it. How is he with toys hoovers? Just wondered if he liked playing with them?

leonifay · 19/11/2008 13:16

he even hates the toys! hes getting one for christmas, my mum decided that getting it in wrapping paper may change his mind! i'll try getting him to watch, theres no way i'll be able to chase him with it, he'll run in to a corner and never come out!
thankyou

AbbaFan · 19/11/2008 13:51

Afternoon all.

Hectic day so far.... and have only just sat down to eat half a sandwich while the mindees nap!

Have to dash back out in 15 mins to collect from playgroup and then straight onto the school run!

Looney - great news on the variation.

Leonifay - can you hoover while he sleeps?

Pink - Thanks again for the RA's

Hi everyone else xx

nannynick · 19/11/2008 13:57

I've just finished work for the day. Nice short day today.
On way home I listened to Radio4 in the car.
Mumsnet was mentioned - something to do with children watching TV.
Supposedly Mumsnet Users are in "the upper end of the social scale" according to Radio4. Are you in the upper end? I don't feel I am. post comments on this thread

KatyMac · 19/11/2008 15:01

OK I have been having a nap at about 1(ish) every day for the last few weeks because I am so poorly

Today the garage rang, DH spent ages getting directions for DD's friend's house so he could drop something off, then rang about 8 times in 15 minutes to say he was lost - then the baby woke up so I got no sleep/rest & I am very annoyed

DD & the baby are playing really well together & she said 'Go & lie down' and of course I can't and she doesn't understand why I can't so she is upset too
