MaureenMLove · 05/04/2008 16:53

Umm, yes, I am Vi and I have a small problem that I need help with! Can anyone recommend a good CM for me for 28th April? I'm at work and DD has an Inset day! I don't know what to do with her! Ooops! I didn't think this job lark through properly did I?

KaySamuels · 05/04/2008 16:56

Yes VI whine away! I will moan along in the background.

Mo - surely there are plenty of people you could call in a favour from?

MaureenMLove · 05/04/2008 16:59

Probably, just hadn't really given it a thought! What if she's ill? I suppose I'll have to leave her at home alone and pop back at lunch time. Its only 10 mins away and DH is in and out all day and reachable all day.

looneytune · 05/04/2008 17:02

Hi all.

Mo - can't believe that's it for you now. As for dd - have you tried the childcarelink website?

To those of you who are feeling poorly - hope you feel better soon

Right ladies, I need HELP!!! Ds having birthday party tomorrow and I'm trying to decide what food to put in each party box? It will mainly be 4/5 year olds (with few of mindees who are 1/2 yrs old). I've got threads going in the party section but now starting to panic

MaureenMLove · 05/04/2008 17:10

Ah, but I never judge a cm by her Ofsted report!

Link to party food, if you please!

MaureenMLove · 05/04/2008 17:11

Don't worry, found it!

looneytune · 05/04/2008 17:24

Cheers Mo.

For anyone else that wants to assist Here's the link

KaySamuels · 05/04/2008 18:35

anyone around?

nannynick · 05/04/2008 18:40

Kay... not being paid is not good. Perhaps you need a policy of not letting people in the door, until they have paid.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow morning. Snow is due to arrive with me around 4am, so by 9am there may be a reasonable amount of it. I don't like driving in the snow that much.

KaySamuels · 05/04/2008 18:46

I have just had a big row with a mum and ended up having to shut door on her as she was getting so aggressive! Refused to pay late payment fee and was really irate. Said to just pay me and would give notice (have been advised on here to give notice for sooo long - nightmare p[arent), the mum said she would report me to Ofsted as fee was obviously more important than her chld! I have put up with so much from this family, have just been sobbing and shaking, can't believe people can be so venemous.

I like snow nick!

nannynick · 05/04/2008 18:53

Ofsted will take no notice. I used to be on their helpline, quite common for parents to phone up with moans about money. Ofsted don't get involved with money issues - so she will be told that, if she does go to Ofsted.
Think you are right... if she has been difficult on your doorstep, then it's termination time. Your contract no doubt says when payment is expected and additional late fees.

I like snow as well. I'm bad at regulating body temperature, so far prefer cold days to hot days (I overheat easily). I actually quite like driving in snow - have driven up a mountain, but I don't like other drivers! They just don't seem to get it... if you go too slow it's worse, then if you just keep nice and steady. Moving in snow isn't an issue... it's stopping!

KaySamuels · 05/04/2008 18:56

I told her they would not be interested in our contracts and payment disputes, ironically I have a fantasticly glowing reference of hers about how great I am. Have been bullied or manipulated into backing down several times and had had enough. I typed a notice letter out a fortnight ago and chickened out.

shoshe · 05/04/2008 19:01

Make sure you give her the notice now Kay, and DO NOT CHICKEN OUT, your a much to good CM, to put up with anymore.

Can't have a damaged Mo, now can we?

MaureenMLove · 05/04/2008 19:59

Thankyou Shoshe My poor old bits are really in the wars this week!

Kay, that's the last straw. Like Nick said, Ofsted aren't interested, so her threats are idle. Send notice to her and don't take her child even for notice period until she's paid you.

KaySamuels · 05/04/2008 20:22

I have been paid minus late fee.
Have written very professional and restrained notice letter, I am not going to back down this time and I think she realises she has gone too far. I think it had too be a big push sadly for me to bite the bullet and end the contract. Upset how little consideration I am given.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 05/04/2008 20:58

oh Kay i'm sorry you having such a shit time with parents - in my opinion you're totally right to give notice - be strong - it makes me realise how bloody lucky i am .

KaySamuels · 05/04/2008 21:29

Thanks all, feeling a little calmer now but still pretty shaky, can't believe it, I had to physically push the door to with both hands whilst she tried to push it open. Glad ds was sleeping but dp and eldest dss were both stood there and it didn't sway her. Dss been out and bought me chocolate bless!

Wish I was tougher. Oh well one payment down one to go.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 05/04/2008 21:36

did your dp not tell her to leave?

KaySamuels · 05/04/2008 22:21

He came through into the hallway when I started to cry and stuck up for me but stood back from us so dss couldn't get in the middle. DP been great today, I got a lie in this morning and breakfast in bed with a rose.

Am off to bed now, am absolutely shattered will pop in tomorrow I'm sure.

crace · 06/04/2008 07:18

Kay, what a nightmare!

Kay - {{{hugs}}}

Well DD is happy as it's snowing here and we never get snow (I don't think much will last).
Tomorrow she goes back to school .
