Just got through after 1 hour 40 mins, lovely lady but she said they’re taking 20 weeks now and be looking at end of November! Jeez I hope not! X

Are you scan date 26/06?
There is people who have been awarded from this date that I've seen and afew days before.
I think they could be telling people longer to stop the ringing.

Mummyrach13 · 20/10/2023 17:02

Yeah I’m 26/6 I’m already a nervous mess let alone end of nov 😂 I’ve seen 27th awarded and a lot are up to 20/6 now.
she must be one who is a bit extreme so that we don’t call back! Well I hope so anyway x

Sillysausages987 · 20/10/2023 18:06

Hi all, scan date of 23/06 here for my non-verbal daughter with ASDs application. I called 9am this morning, was told it’s not with a DM yet and could be another 2 weeks to even go to them and then a further 10 working days for a decision…the wait is absolutely killing me. Do they realise how desperately these funds are needed for us all for therapy etc?

Anyone with a scan date the same or similar to mine had any news yet either with a DM or awarded? Do they work over the half term? Thank you all!

Lovely17 · 20/10/2023 18:08

I think they just say it so people don’t call back. I had rang Monday and the woman said it wouldn’t be with a dm until 18.5 weeks and I rang again today and it went to dm yesterday which would’ve made me 17w + 2days!! So I wouldn’t worry too much especially those of you with 23/06 & 26/06 yous probs get to dm next week 😊 x

Caroline6623 · 20/10/2023 18:26

@Sillysausages987 my scan date is the same as yours 23/6, I called yesterday morning & the lady said my son’s claim was still in a holding que 😩 not even reached a DM yet. Lady told me that they are running to 18.5 weeks but it’s changing weekly as to how many they get through!!

4LittleFirecrackers · 20/10/2023 18:43

Not exactly DLA related but has anyone who has requested right to choose referral via their GP had them refused? Our GP said they can’t do them and don’t apply for funding so we have to just wait on the NHS waiting list. Surely it defeats the object of right to choose?

emamc · 20/10/2023 18:46

@Mumtotwoboys121 hi I think you have the same scan date as me, 13/06, I know you have been awarded, I rang today to find out if I have but got cut off!
I was just wondering if you have had you payment into the bank yet? Thanks

Hi, I was 14/6 was awarded on Tuesday. It arrived in my bank this morning but was told it would likely be next week so it was early for me x

emamc · 20/10/2023 19:11

@4LittleFirecrackers i did right to choose for my son and he was seen within 3 months. He was diagnosed with autism on 25/09 (we were waiting for some time until I exercised right to choose) google ur local RTC providers u should find a list somewhere maybe on ur local council website. Contact the people directly to find out what they need from ur GP for ur referral, or there may be a letter u can print on their website . Take it to ur GP along with a cover letter stating u are exercising ur right to choose. Be firm they have to listen . I did RTC with my son aged 4 also with myself for autism and ADHD I am on a waiting list for psychiatry UK online (but I’m not sure they do children) Good luck xxx

4LittleFirecrackers · 20/10/2023 19:24

@Cocopops22 thank you so much, I thought it was wrong they were declining, I’ve found a provider so have the full form etc which states all the rights, the GP just don’t want to fund it obviously. I’ll just go back and refuse to leave until it’s accepted 😅 just so annoying. We waited 6 years for my daughters autism assessment! This was years ago now and before right to choose became a thing so it’s the first time I’ve tried it. I’ve also emailed nhs England and the local CCG naming said GP (have a bee in my bonnet now lol)

CrazySars · 20/10/2023 19:25

X

emamc · 20/10/2023 19:35

@Mumtotwoboys121
thanks, I’ll let you know how I get on x

Melliee · 20/10/2023 19:43

Scan date 5th July
got told it should be with the dm by 3rd November.
however they are still looking at claims from the middle of June this was Monday I called.

Mummyrach13 · 20/10/2023 19:53

I Seen one the other day saying a lady called and she said it wasn’t with a DM and she got a text an hour later being awarded so will take what the caller said With a pinch of salt as I think they can see when an award is done but not always if there with DMs.
majority of posts I have seen with dates upto 22/6 are with or going to DM so don’t think mine will be end of Nov x

I'm the 6th, I'm going to send more evidence on Monday next day delivery and give them a call Thursday. I've seen other people with similar dates on here been told to call around the 13th November. Have you had any texts or letters? xx

Cocopops22 · 20/10/2023 20:10

@4LittleFirecrackers keep chasing everything up it took me a while to get on my chosen list because the GP didn’t fill out the referral properly even though I included everything, and call the provider u have chosen urself they can help if u have any issues. At one point my doctors said something about funding , they have to make sure the provider accepts right to choose and will accept u depending on ur area and other things, but u can double check all this with the company u have chosen as well. Write everything in a letter to ur Gp I included a list of why I believe my child should be referred as well even tho my gp accepted him beforehand but they sent this to the chosen provider along with everything else in the referral , questionnaires etc xx

Mummyof5kiddos · 20/10/2023 20:13

@4LittleFirecrackers Hi I was just wondering what is right to choose referral?

4LittleFirecrackers · 20/10/2023 20:17

@Mummyof5kiddos its basically your choice to select a different/alternative provider who can assess yourself/your child for adhd or autism. They follow the same assessments but are private and should essentially not have such long waiting lists from what I’ve read

Mummyof5kiddos · 20/10/2023 20:26

@4LittleFirecrackers oh that’s brilliant, I’m definitely going to have to look into this, it’s a 3 and half year waiting list for cahms to be assessed for adhd, autism, anxiety and tics 😵‍💫 definitely could do with seeing someone earlier, we’ve even been waiting for speech therapy for 2 years

4LittleFirecrackers · 20/10/2023 20:37

@Mummyof5kiddos oh definitely do, we’re going back with ours and going to put our foot down. There are lots of companies you can pay privately for but most people need the DLA to have the funds to do this. These said companies also offer referrals for the right to choose which should come out of the NHS budget

Thenoseymother · 20/10/2023 20:47

Yep, we had this. The GP refused and said they don’t do it for children in our local authority. I know my GP do right to choose as I actually used it for my diagnosis. However they said they don’t for children and that was that. We are now going private! Seems really unfair!

4LittleFirecrackers · 20/10/2023 21:05

@Thenoseymother i can picture myself getting escorted out the surgery 😂 did private cost much?

Lors3 · 20/10/2023 21:46

Am I allowed to name a right to choose provider on mumsnet? Sorry first time posting, got referred on Monday by our doctors for child adhd and we are being seen on Thursday!! No titration though. If I am allowed to name them on here someone let me know and I will post their details.
