Hi,

I created a new thread as the old one is reaching its limit.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I’ve just rang up scan date August 1st, it’s been with the decision maker since Monday but still no decision been made. The woman I spoke to did say the text I receive won’t tell me my decision it’ll just say a decision has been made. Does anyone know if this is true cause I’m sure I’ve seen people say they had texts to say their claim was accepted?

Kas76 · 02/11/2022 11:55

That's what she said to me also , but she also added that some dms don't have the text facility so I may not get one 🙄

BecLew97 · 02/11/2022 11:59

That’s ridiculous to be honest, every time I ring they remind me I’m down for a text so it’s abit cheeky considering I might not even get one. They wonder why they’re constantly getting phone calls aswell

Kas76 · 02/11/2022 12:07

I completely agree. I said to the lady that other ppl with scan date for 1st have had awards or some sort of confirmation, all she said was it depends on how many files the dm has. X

EstJac76 · 02/11/2022 12:11

My scan date for daughter's (13) DLA application was 1st August. When submitted we were about to start ASD assessment (waiting since Nov 2019). I included all evidence I had from past such as SALT diagnosis, support worker and her letter accepting her onto ASD pathway. Since submitting the application we have received her diagnosis of ASD Level 2. My question is....will the DM see that her diagnosis has been made? I made it clear we were about to start assessment. Or, do I need to contact them to let them know?

BecLew97 · 02/11/2022 12:23

@EstJac76 Ring and let them know. The only way they’d find out is if they rang the professional that gave the diagnosis, however they may not call them. It’s worth letting them know but it would be too late to send any evidence of it now. Judging by what you’ve gave them it certainly sounds enough anyways but it’s worth letting them know.

EstJac76 · 02/11/2022 12:29

@BecLew97 thanks, was wondering if when they look up NHS number it would be on her file as was an NHS assessment? The assessment report was great as backed up what I'd identified as her struggles and care needs, but know will be too late to send in. The waiting is dreadful, isn't it? Think I'll wait in case I need the diagnosis and report to appeal a decision. Hoping it won't be long now!

BecLew97 · 02/11/2022 12:53

Good idea we have also had to do that. We received a file off our portage worker last week that stated everything I’ve said in my form about my son, but I knew it would delay the decision especially with the postal strikes so we have decided to keep it Incase we need it for an appeal. Good luck hopefully we hear something soon!

Shellbod81 · 02/11/2022 16:04

Anyone had any decisions today? And what date was scan please? X

Laurahxx · 02/11/2022 16:32

I’ve just rang, I’ve been awarded hrc for my two year old until 2024 xx scan date 29th July xx

Kas76 · 02/11/2022 17:27

That's great news... x

Shellbel10 · 02/11/2022 17:35

Brilliant news. I’m new to this is 2 years the norm what people are awarded

Laurahxx · 02/11/2022 17:38

Good luck to you @Kas76 hope you find out soon. X

Shellbod81 · 02/11/2022 17:50

@Laurahxx glad your wait is finally over and your dc can get the extra support they need x

Laurahxx · 02/11/2022 19:01

Thank you @Shellbod81 good luck to everyone else waiting. I also didn’t get a text I just rang up to chase it up. I was with a DM from Friday until Tuesday xx

Kas76 · 03/11/2022 09:02

Let us know if anyone gets any updates today.. im not going to call again as I feel like I'm stalking them. 🤣

Xoxdrew · 03/11/2022 09:10

I sent my application on the 5th of aug, I’ve rang this morning and they’ve said it’s in a holding que for a decision maker to pick it up.

Gemma96x · 03/11/2022 09:17

I still got no update thinking next week or 2 now xx

Kas76 · 03/11/2022 10:33

I'm literally just deflated now. Kind of at that point of if it happens then it happens. Mines been with dm since Monday.

BecLew97 · 03/11/2022 10:43

@Kas76 We feel the exact same way, we’ve waited so long and now even longer with the decision maker. Sick of calling every single day to be told there’s no update, it’s extremely deflating

Isaacsmammy · 03/11/2022 10:55

I’ve just phoned. My son has been declined. He has hyper mobility and is currently under paediatrics for ? Sensory processing/ASD. I’m going straight in for an MR once I receive my letter stating why he was declined.

Lysha1988 · 03/11/2022 11:06

I’ve written to my mp, as I don’t feel being left in the dark like this is fair. I don’t understand why there is such a backlog. I’ve applied twice in 2020 and 2021 and it was really straightforward. This time it’s been a nightmare and they don’t seem to have any answers as to why there is so many people waiting.

Shellbod81 · 03/11/2022 11:08

@Kas76 what is your scan date please?
@Isaacsmammy sorry to hear that , dosnt hold much hope for the rest of us , hopefully you will be more successful with the MR …can I ask what your scan date is please?
@Gemma96x are you phoning again today?🤣I think I’ll phone again tomorrow x

Acappuchinoplease · 03/11/2022 11:09

I’ve just called today. My scan was the 10th of Aug and she said it will likely be looked at next week

Kas76 · 03/11/2022 11:09

Sorry to hear that. Alot of MRs are apparently quite positive sp fingers crossed for you.
