StrawberryMartini · 12/10/2007 07:09

Sadly I never stay up that late as ds always has me up early... this morning was 5.25 . Still, at least it's Friday!

Megsdaughter · 12/10/2007 07:19

Been up since 4.30 SM (Initials seem faintly rude )

But will be able to sleep all tomorrow as no kids

Morning all, my first mindee arrived at 6.30 and the next two are due anytime now.

I was up that late but drank too much pop last nite, eyes couldn't quite focus

Megsdaughter · 12/10/2007 07:42

My God Saz do they always come that early??????????????????

mumlove · 12/10/2007 07:59

Morning all, mad present unwrapping going on here at the moment it's DD 7th birthday (it's going to be a very long day!).

LoveMyGirls · 12/10/2007 07:59

Morning everyone, I managed to get a good sleep yesterday so last night had the energy to clean up a bit which made me feel lots better and I caught up with some paperwork and had an early night so today will be easier. Only problem for today is that I just checked my bank balance and it's really not good! I haven't been paid from ft mindee this week because his mum has been really poorly she did say she would send a cheque round today but so far nothing and really i need the cash what shall i say? I should have been paid on monday am so have been trying not to cause her more stress.

LoveMyGirls · 12/10/2007 08:00

Happy birthday to your not so LO ML!

Katymac · 12/10/2007 08:04

Guys come & help me here....please I think I've lost perspective a bit

Megsdaughter · 12/10/2007 08:04

phone her and say can you please have it in cash by end of day as you will need it to do the childrens food shopping, its her child that you are feeding, and sorry whether she is ill or not, if she can get her child to you, she can get cheque to you.

Katymac · 12/10/2007 08:07

S'OK I've been told - I need to chill

LoveMyGirls · 12/10/2007 08:07

No she really is too ill to leave the house, she had a op at the weekend and came out of hosp yesterday.

SpooKAYsamuels · 12/10/2007 08:09

I had mindee here at 6.30 too, and am still struggling to wake up! DS is really stroppy - not like him and I am not used to it, think he is determined to wind me up! Also I burnt the toast and ran out of milk!

FFIF!!

Megsdaughter · 12/10/2007 08:10

Ohy not offer to go collect cheque then. but are you having child?

OP posts:
SpooKAYsamuels · 12/10/2007 08:11

LMG can you maybe offer to pick it up from her, give her a riing, explain you haven't wanted to bother her but you really need it. I have had to do this before and find it very effective.

LoveMyGirls · 12/10/2007 08:19

Yes Im having mindee her dp is doing drop off n pick up but hes very unapproachable I get the impression they keep their money seperate. I will have to phone her I can't do without the money.

MaureenMLove · 12/10/2007 08:19

Ug! Morning. Really shouldn't have stayed up so late gassing in the staff room! My first one came at 6.15.

LMG, have you read the begining of yesterdays staff room? It really was very funny! I agree with Meg though, you've done the job, you need paying. She wouldn't hold her mortgage company up because she's been in hospital, would she? Know its tough, but thats the way it is.

Happy Birthday MumloveDD! Hope she has a fab day, whatcha doin tonight with her?

Now, two questions that bother me today!

1 How does Nutella get away with advertising that its good for kids to eat chocolate for breakfast?

2 Who wrote the new report that says children are being put under too much pressure at too young an age. WE KNOW THAT!! There's a million parents who could have done that report for free!

MaureenMLove · 12/10/2007 08:25

Oh, forgot to tell you! I met MN member blondehelen yesterday in the playground! It was very funny. We'd been txting this week about the piano and I spotted who I thought was her, so I tapped her on the shoulder and just say, 'exuse me, are you Helen?' And we both just burst out laughing! Incredibably, not only does she live 2 streets from me, she was also one of DH's nurses when he was in hospital a few years ago. I haven't asked if she remembers him yet, but he was there for 3 weeks and was the youngest person to have what he had, so she might! Going round her house later this morning.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 12/10/2007 09:16

Morning all.

Strawbs - we've been going through that with ds recently - exhausting isn't it!

Saz73 - come on.....tell them what the chemist said...!!!

Mumlove - happy birthday to dd, hope she has a good day!

LMGs - glad you feel better but I still think you were mad cleaning yesterday evening when you should have been resting!!! (did I tell you all about her SQUEEKY voice??? sorry!!) As for the money, I agree, say you're sorry to have to trouble her, you'd leave it if you could but you must have the cash by the end of the day. Say you're happy to come and collect it. I know she's been in hospital but to be fair, her dp could have gone and sorted it for her, it's THEIR problem to make sure you get it!

katymac - I agree with the others but I only have a 4 yr old ds so not the best person to comment.

Mo - how funny about the playground etc. And as for Nutella, stuff like that really annoys me. A few years ago my sister rang all excited about her ds finally eating something different (very very fussy, only ever liked tin of hotdog sausages with ketchup) - he was now eating CHOCOLATE MILKY WAY SPREAD sarnies on WHITE bread FFS!!! She thought it was great coz it's got vitamins and calcuim. She really annoys me, feeds her kids rubbish, they are all pasty and horrible and she just doesn't get it!!!

Right, ds nagging for another bowl of cereal - no gas so far today So fingers crossed I'll be back to normal on Monday, can't afford to loose any more money, this week was enough!!

Have a good day everyone

Saz73 · 12/10/2007 09:22

Thank you looney, the chemist told me it was CP!!! I feel really betrayed by parent and was very fed up yesterday about it all.

MaureenMLove · 12/10/2007 09:31

What did you tell the parent then? God, that's terrible! I hope she'll be explaining to your other mindees parents, what she's done! I can't get over that, thats really, really bad!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 12/10/2007 09:32

Well done Saz.....it really helps to vent off on here - GO FOR IT. I was really angry on your behalf yesterday and even dh was too! Spill the whole situation to the others on here and see what they think - I think it's well out of order and she's over-stepped the mark!!!

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 12/10/2007 09:33

Mo - it gets worse. If Saz wants to, she'll tell you why things have changed with this parent

MaureenMLove · 12/10/2007 09:34

Please do, but I'm just going to nip and look at my piano! I'll be back in half hour!

Saz73 · 12/10/2007 09:43

Here we go, you might just regret it
Looked after mindee for 15 mths now (thu & Fri), she's maninly had me to herself due to living in a quiet area. in the last 4-6 mths I've taken on a full and part timer. Parent has expressed she's not too pleased, but needs must, morgage and bills to pay. It also benefits mindee has don't think she mixes when not with me. Had a great relationship with parent but since taking more children on it's a matter of just dropping of and picking up, not much chat as there use to be.

Arrived last thursday, throughout day more spots started appearing and phoned mum said think she's got the dreaded CP, mum kept her at home the friday and then monday took her to docs who diagnosed infected hair follicles. Never heard of this before. Still not happy, took to chemist yesterday and confirmed CP. How do I approach the parent??????
