ScottishThistle · 23/05/2007 07:17

Good morning Shosha!

I've been up since stupid o'clock again!

Just off to get ready for my shift!

Hope your interview goes well.

Shoshable · 23/05/2007 07:29

St why are you up so early love

saltire · 23/05/2007 07:57

Morning all. Just got one mindee today - and DH off until we move, so needless to say he is doing my head in already.

LoveMyGirls · 23/05/2007 08:06

Morning everyone. I've got one leaving on thursday and one starting friday or monday plus hols next week so that will be busy and we're moving in 3 weeks, i feel shattered have been so stressed lately I know i just need to crack on, the worse bit is how tense i am, it's not helping, how can i stop feeling like this? I am going to get myself booked for a massage I think.

I'm ok unless i start thinking about it all then i feel panicky.

Dd1 has a project to do as well so that's a bit more pressure to get it done on time, early would be good so we can get it handed in to avoid it getting lost/ crushed in the move.

Today I am going to try and be chilled, it's going well so far, perhaps now i've written it all down i can relax a bit more

LoveMyGirls · 23/05/2007 08:07

Oh here i am so wrapped up in myself!

Good luck (not that you need it!) Shosha!!

when are you moving salty?

Shoshable · 23/05/2007 08:13

Saltire dont you just hate that, and then they decide to halp you sor the packing out, by making little piles of stuff and leaving them were thet are either going to be knocked over/ thrown out/ just generally get in the way

OP posts:
Shoshable · 23/05/2007 08:14

LMG have you got boxes and that sorted if not look on your local freecycle, we seem to have packing things always on it.

OP posts:
Earthymama · 23/05/2007 08:23

Good luck with the moving, girls.
LMG, make a LIST! Pin it up on the wall as a master copy and carry a little book with your own responsibilities.
It will all seem more manageable!
I'm off to get dressed, been up for ages but printer is not working so been messing with that, then had to write the info for parents by hand.
How do you get parents to read the notes you send? I've offered to get a tatooing kit to make sure one of my mindees' family knows whats going on!!

saltire · 23/05/2007 08:32

We move on 4th June, CM children finsih on 1st JUne .
Dh isn't yet making little piles of things shosha, but he is doing my head in in different ways. he decided at 2.55 to clean out the cuipboard in the hall, the chiuldren and mindees get home from school at 3.05 and of course it was just chaos. Also ahving problems with insurance. As you probalby know Shosha the MOD and thier movers don't take responsibility for loss or damage to things unless you take out their insurance, or are covered by your own insurance. Our home insurance company says we aren't covered under the terms of our policy "because all removal firms have to ahve public liabiltiy insurance, therefore they cover you for loss or damage". i tried telling them - it's the MOD they don't like paying for things. So, cutting a long story short we ar ehaving to cough up a lot of money to White and Co to be covered under their insurance. Agggghhhhhhhh

Shoshable · 23/05/2007 08:35

If they have packed you stuff they are insured, we have never paid for insurance, never known anybody that has ?

OP posts:
crace · 23/05/2007 09:08

EM - was just going to suggest the LIST. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I get it all down and start crossing things off. It helps me feel more in control. LMG, hang in there. May these 3 weeks speed by!

Shosha, good luck today

Saltire, nightmare. Men around the house are never a good thing. My DH (all full of good intention mind) does that sort of thing all the time, and I have told him he's not allowed to be home during the week. If off sick he's in our room with the door shut .

Doing good here, have a toddler group Sale Day to go to and then mindee 1 is the only one here and leaves at 1pm. DD is mucho poorly, green snot gross, and was up all night in bed with me tossing and turning, trying to sleep bless her. She just can't breathe, and as a result I am SHATTERED. Least I got rid of snoring DH, he slept in her bed

MaureenMLove · 23/05/2007 10:28

Morning folks. No kids til after school today, yay! Should be starting to think about what I'm taking away with me for the weekend, but dh is out working today, so I just want to sit! He will be working from home tomorrow and I've got no kids again, so I'll do it then.
Aren't men pita's when it comes to moving? Not very helpful at all. We're not moving, but we have been saving for months and months to finish our extension. The outside is done, but the inside needs plaster & floor done. Thing is, we use it as a dumping ground and I KNOW that at some point over the next couple of weeks, dh is going to tell me that his mate is going to start working on it, with about 12 hours notice! Trouble is, because its all cash in hand, mates rates stuff, we can't pin him down exactly, so I am constantly poised to move the entire contents of said extension to somewhere in the rest of the house!

ScottishThistle · 23/05/2007 10:31

Theres a lot to be said for the Uniformed Organisations isn't there! My dh asked me to stop signing dd up for Guide things, as we are running out of weekends as a family!! Its a wonderful insitution though, she is doing so many community related things atm, it can only be good for her in the long run.
Right, where Crace, I want a word! And why did I check out her unanswered thread? She posted yesterday about a free online quiz and I can't get myself off it!!

crace · 23/05/2007 12:25

It is, isn't it!? Glad you are enjoying it.. I have a web sudoku one too if anyone is interested??

Right - party at dmo's. I will bring the nachos!

dmo · 23/05/2007 12:27

cool everybody come over
loads of beer
just need the sunshine

fifilou · 23/05/2007 12:56

did i hear someone mention a party?

am on my way! I'll bring the peanuts.

phew! just got back from sewing 26 flags onto a huge banner at B2's nursery!

what fun! (not)

no parents would volunteer (again) so muggins here got to do the majority!!

B2 was pleased i was there, produly stating 'she is my friend you know? she is my friend!'

cute.

saltire- we moved in Feb and it was madness! we labelled all the boxes to which room they should go, and the removal men lweft most in the living room resulting in us having to lift them up 2 flights of stairs......Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

its excting though through all the stress. I had a big list on my fridge so i knew what i had done and what needed doing.

Scottishthistle- insomnia is horrid. I have some months where i slepp hardly at all, and some months when i sleep ok. I can remember the last time i had a full nights sleep. But hey- have you tried herbal remedies? They dont knock you out, but they do make you feel a whole lot more relaxed.

try a warm bath in lavender oil, lavender drops on your pillow, and go to bed around 10.30pm. do some deep breathing, and try to drift off. sometimes works, sometimes doesnt.

crace · 23/05/2007 13:10

Fifi, I can't remember the last time I slept well either - oh yeah, before I got married and had children. Good thing they are all so cute

dmo - it's hot here actually, will bring the sunshine with me!

dmo · 23/05/2007 13:12

oh good sod the brew i will crack open a few beers

fifilou · 23/05/2007 13:13

see now crace thats the funny thing- i dont have children (yet), so how on earth will i sleep then!!!!?

maybe I will be so shattered working full time and being a mum that i will have no problems?

its sunny here too! vest top weather.......yay!

off to eat my sanwich in the garden now.
