Shoshable · 21/05/2007 07:29

I always take May half Term and October Half term off, its pointless me taking anytime in the summer as DH is away, so usually atke May with DGD and October with DH, so its nice.

Mmmmm - just had a nice warm croissant for breakfast (don't normally have breakfast so a nice treat ) and just finishing my tea. Luckily noticed it had just started raining so ran out and got the washing down. Supposed to be nice today I thought, best go check the weather report and double check.

looneytune · 21/05/2007 08:30

Sorry, how rude of me not to share - I have some crumbs left if anyone wants any???

crace · 21/05/2007 09:21

Last week until I am off too!! Can't wait - well, actually I can. I am dreading the 6 hours on a plane with a very active 17 month old. Lord help us

Miserable weather, AND the mum of the 3 month old that was coming to see me is down with a cold and calling to reschedule. Bum

LT - no thanks on a last minute diet to counter act the effects next week will have. I will be so sick of American food by the end of the week I will be dying to come home.

looneytune · 21/05/2007 09:35

Oh Crace, it will be worth the plane trip! How you doing?

Just off to toddler group now the girls have arrived. I've had my 'au pair' thread deleted but for those who are following it, I nearly PMSL when au pair told me this morning that....................they have 20 B&B guests this week and the dad is so greedy for money that he booked in more than they have room for and have blown up beds to put on the living room floor!!! How happy those guests are going to be when they find out!!! Mad people!! LOL

Right, best go, enjoy you morning everyone

looneytune · 21/05/2007 09:36

Oh yeah, and mum emails me this morning about a prescription that's in the bag for baby and IF passing a chemist could I get it. I've replied no and told her what my day looks like so she could clearly see there's no time for a chemist run!!! Cheek! She went to Dr's around 11am on Saturday so could have collected herself from somewhere. I know she would have had to find one that's open but the whole point is it's supposed to make baby feel better!!!

looneytune · 21/05/2007 09:37

that looked bad - I've been told baby is better now so she just wants them for future use

crace · 21/05/2007 09:38

LT - those people are insane, truly. I wouldn't stay on an air mattress!

Am ok, thanks much. DH did mucho work in the garden for me this weekend, so feeling good about life. Just wasn't up to it, and he's really stepped up. He even fixed the washer for us. (What is about men and tools? sigh.. ) Good ole boy.. he done well

Katymac · 21/05/2007 09:38

Morning all

Feeling very relaxed after a weekend away

hennipenni · 21/05/2007 09:53

Morning all, nice day here, well at least it isn't raining!

Got today off as have to take DD3 for her pre-op assessment this afty, so am going to catch up on my cleaning.

MaureenMLove · 21/05/2007 09:55

LT - you think your parents are bad, I have to go to a funeral on Friday. Conveniently its inset day at school, so I figured it would be easier for a parent to find cover all day, than having to find someone to just take & collect. Told parent this, she said oh ok, I suppose he can't really come with you can he? She was serious too!

When are you off Shosh - I'll be away Friday - Mon, but will open on Tuesday. Although its half term, so can't promise usual standard of tea, cakes and punctuality.

Crace - please keep me up-to-date with your weather - I'll be there Friday night!

Morning all, btw!

LoveMyGirls · 21/05/2007 11:14

OMG I have really heard it all now MLM!!!!!!!!!!

LoveMyGirls · 21/05/2007 11:15

MML even now i'm getitng confused!

LoveMyGirls · 21/05/2007 11:39

How many of you have children that chew their food then spit it on the plate and leave it?

MaureenMLove · 21/05/2007 12:08

I've had those in the past! Most annoying! I seem to think they grew out of it quite quickly though.
I have had the most amazing breakthough today! I have had a mindee since she was about 1 and now she is 3 next week. I only have her 1.5 days a week, so over time, its not actually been very much. Also its term time only. She has always been fine with me, no tears, smiley, eats, drinks etc, but she very VERY rarely actually talks to me! I spend most of my time with her, talking to myself! Well today, she's talking! In fact, I can't shut her up!! Suddenly, I actually feel like I'm getting to know her! Her parents have never been concerned, she's like it with most people aparently. I'm thrilled obviously, trouble is she is going in an hour and I won't see her again til Monday week!!

crace · 21/05/2007 12:18

MML - wow, well done. Shame she isn't seeing you for a while now

How fast has today gone? I can't believe it's midday. Mindee having her homemade leek and onion quiche (thank you very much - toot too (that's me blowing my own horn)) and dd is sleeping already due to horrendous nights of teething and cold. Mummy could use a nap, but hey ho..

Mindee leaves at 1pm too and that's me done. I love easy days.

Oh, and that mum who cancelled phoned back - seeing her on Friday! Hopefully I can't skip away on hols with another signed up

LoveMyGirls · 21/05/2007 12:19

Ive got a little houdini here what do i do about that then? he's climbed out the travel cot twice, i've put him in his pushchair to have a sleep but i wouldnt put it past time climb out of there, i've had him about 2 weeks now and he's always gone straight to sleep Confused he is ill though and i'm still new and mum has decided now is a good time to take his dummy away.

What do i do?

crace · 21/05/2007 12:19

MML - it's horrid and raining here today, but meant to be clear, lovely and warm over the weekend.

crace · 21/05/2007 12:21

Um... lots of consistant "it's time for bed" maybe and putting him back down? I am sure he just needs to see what's what.

And I am sure the lack of dummy isn't helping either. Bless you

LoveMyGirls · 21/05/2007 12:26

The cots are in the same room and its not fair on dd2 if hes screaming in the that's why ive put him in his pushchair in the hall, ive never had this before they always just go straight to sleep, think i'll have to start putting him down a bit before her but then whose going to watch her down here while i'm up there doing pupd? and it was going sooooo well! Now i've got a headache, at least he's being quiet......thats because hes gone off to sleep - now i've got to creep round like a mouse........shhhhhhhh

dmo · 21/05/2007 12:32

so hot here today 2 wash loads of washing that i pegged out this morning are dry
just planning next weeks rota of where to go and which children i will have due to half term, no mini bus this half term as its in for its M.O.T so i'm gutted anyway i have only had to plan 4 days as monday is bank holiday

LoveMyGirls · 21/05/2007 12:33

What have you got planned dmo?

MaureenMLove · 21/05/2007 12:54

I had to take my car for MOT last week. I was sooo nervous. Its been sitting around since before christmas, as I need two new tyres and I couldn't afford them, mot & tax! Its quite an old car and I didn't hold out much hope for the MOT. Well, I took it and imagined that they wouldn't allow me to drive it home again. When I got back there, he said, 'well, it could do with some new wiper blades! So happy! Will tax it next week, otherwise, I'll will have to pay for May. Can't wait. Shame half term finishes on 1st June!!

LoveMyGirls · 21/05/2007 13:09

What shall i say to his mum, should i request the dummy back just till he settles? Should i put him in his pushchair everyday? what shall i do?
