Can you let us all know where you live as that would really help, different in different areas and do you want breakfast/lunch/dinner etc ? what exactly do you need the CM to do ?

StrawberrySnowflakes · 06/02/2007 21:08

youd have to contact your local CIS or go to their website as it varies area to area..im in teesside, i charge £3 8.30-5.30 and up to £2.50 more either side depending on what time.hth

BassMama · 06/02/2007 21:18

Mine charges £25 - from around 7.45am til about 4pm.

I provide the food and nappies but she does provide lots of snacks and things for during the day.

She doesnt ask for extra money for activities, and she is very generous with buying him wee presents and things. She is lovely.

Also, if i am late she charges no extra.

I am in Edinburgh.

I pay £4 per hour and that includes meals - Surrey

Jackmummy · 06/02/2007 22:15

Think it also depends on qualifications and experience of each individual childminder. Around here, SE London, prices range from £3.50 to £6 per hour.

mykidzrmyworld · 06/02/2007 22:41

£3 an hr in south wales for f/t

mogs0 · 07/02/2007 13:56

I charge £5.50 p/h or £45 p/d. That includes all food and nappies.

Missgolightly- £60 is a lot, maybe I should re-think my rates!!

smeeinit · 07/02/2007 14:20

blimey mogs where r u based? £5.50 p/h is good!!

star1976 · 07/02/2007 14:43

I state £4.50 in my portfolio as my hourly rate, but am willing to negotiate down to as low as £3.50.
Current mindee pays £3.85 (which I was very pleased with).

I live near Bromley!

QueenEagle · 07/02/2007 14:45

Very lucky with my c/m who charges £3.50 for the 1st child, £3 for the 2nd. Shift pattern on a 4 week rota so some days they are there 4 days, some weeks only 2. Doesn't charge retainer for the days they are not there. Does charge for picking up late.

badgerhead · 07/02/2007 16:04

I charge £4.20 per hour for less than 30 hours per week & £3.80 per hour for more than 30 hours per week. Average around here is £4 to £4.50 per hour, Horsham, West Sussex.

mogs0 · 07/02/2007 18:14

Smeeinit- I'm in West London. A nanny would cost double that and a nanny share about the same as my rate.

smeeinit · 07/02/2007 18:14

arr west london mogs, that explains it!!

nzshar · 07/02/2007 18:30

I charge £4.50ph no concessions apart from a full timer paying monthly gets about a 5% discount over a year

nzshar · 07/02/2007 18:31

Oh btw im in Watford

alibubbles · 08/02/2007 16:04

St Albans, £5 - £7 an hour
