My CM has found a lump in her breast which obviously she's worried sick about and has booked herself an appointment at a private hospital for Tuesday, she's told me this, not asked if it's ok iyswim. Now I know i'd be worried to death about finding a lump but I really cannot take this time off and DH would be unpaid which we can't afford. I don't want to sound like a heartless cow but she had Friday off at short notice for an uncles funeral and now this, would it be completely awful to ask her to rebook for Wednesday ?

AngelaCill is offering tickets for Th RW concert on 18th Sep "I'm starting a new job the week before and can't book a day off so soon.
Or I would swap for an earlier date. "

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 17:38

Well jessica - clearly I'm a nicer person than you because I do have loyalty to somebody who looks after my child.

yet she has only been in this job 7 weeks - weird

hunkermunker · 03/09/2006 17:38

There's loyalty and lunacy, IMO.

Twiglett · 03/09/2006 17:39

nice?

you couldn't work out for yourself whether it would be wrong to stop someone you have known for 2.5 years consulting a specialist over a potentially terrifying condition

and you're nice???

Flossam · 03/09/2006 17:39

My other thought was earlier - she couldn't afford to keep on only looking after your DD for a couple of days and was looking for a supermarket job - what I don't get is if she loves having your DD so much then why not get a part time supermarket job on the days she dosen't have dd? (or just maybe she didn't want to work with you anymore??!!)

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 17:40

Happy - i haven't started the job that starts before the robbie concert and that is the one i will take if the first goes wrong, it's called a back up plan.

nicer person than me? Im not the one who would expect ANYONE to move an appointment because it wasnt convenient.

it comes accross to me that you dont want to spend time with your child and so are working to pay someone to do it for you.

i would NEVER take a job that meant i had NOTHING at the end of it.

Childcare is important, but family and health come first.

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 17:41

Right well I shall go and tie myself to the steak now.

Therefore new job lined up - no reason to sack CM.

If you're only worried about being in employment and not the job itself, I don't see your problem then.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 03/09/2006 17:42

so why are you fretting - you obviously have a job lined up for next week anyway.

so wheres the issue if you get laid off at the end of your probation?!

noddyholder · 03/09/2006 17:42

If you are into attachment parenting why are you leaving her with anyone at all when you can afford not to.

Sorry, this is all not adding up now. Hmmm. I wish I hadn't wasted any time trying to think of a solution, I think we're in fantasy land here now. Or inconsistent land at the very least.

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 17:44

The CM wouldn't be required if I start the other job.

Actually you know I hope she is a mumnetter because all I have tried to do is the right thing for everyone involved with her at the top of the list and Kathy would know that.

OP posts:
jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 03/09/2006 17:44

why is she top of your list and not your family?

wakeupandsmellthecoffee · 03/09/2006 17:44

Who ever said she was a troll was probably right .

I'm utterly ashamed of myself that I have wasted hours of my life explaining my childs behaviour, our finances and the nanny's health issues with you all.
I wish I could delete the whole threat, what a waste of everyones time.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 03/09/2006 17:46

she's top of the list yet you want her to change a VITAL appointment for YOUR benefit

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 03/09/2006 17:46

its the wanting your CM to change her appointment you should be ashamed of
