My CM has found a lump in her breast which obviously she's worried sick about and has booked herself an appointment at a private hospital for Tuesday, she's told me this, not asked if it's ok iyswim. Now I know i'd be worried to death about finding a lump but I really cannot take this time off and DH would be unpaid which we can't afford. I don't want to sound like a heartless cow but she had Friday off at short notice for an uncles funeral and now this, would it be completely awful to ask her to rebook for Wednesday ?

Jessica - because right now none of my family are ill, so right now today, she's important if any of my kids get ill they'll jump over her but they are fine and she has a lump in her breast.

I meant not ill obviously.

so the cm means more right now because she is potentially very sick, but you still want her to change an appointment to suit you.

i think the fact that you say your kids come second to her AT ALL is wrong.... very wrong.

WideWebWitch · 03/09/2006 17:49

This is all sounding like another poster who would pose a difficult problem with increasingly unlikey combinations of events conspiring to create an inordinately long and heated thread. Ringing a bell for anyone else?

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 17:50

Pass me the razor blades - i give up - what do you want me to say ?

I have children to bath, read to and sing songs with.

Lets hope the childminder reads this and refuses to open the door tomorrow morning.

Bibliophile · 03/09/2006 17:53

This is mad. YOu have no alternative but to give your CM notice if she can't change her appointment....but you start another job on the 18th. Troll or not, this makes NO sense.

Flossam · 03/09/2006 17:53

The poster does remeind me very much of another poster, but the details don't match up.

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 17:54

That would solve my problems to jessica - perhaps I could email her the link and then you can all concole her once she's been made redunant.

You don't make her redundant if she's a childminder! She gets another client! Anyway you are starting a new joy on the 11 September....

Bibliophile · 03/09/2006 17:56

JOB not joy.

And you haven't been fired, and you couldn't be fired. No sense at all.

It makes perfect sense to me, the other job doesn't require a CM and is for fewer hours. The job I have is perfect because it financially cover the CM's wages. Without that job there is no need for a CM. How is that unfeasiable.
Fine if you don't like me/agree with me I can live with that but this is my life, I know all the little idiosyncrasis that you don't so really you can't pull me up on every little detail.

WideWebWitch · 03/09/2006 17:58

Well, console might be too strong, congratulate maybe?

Come on AngelaChill, surely you can see that there have been some inconsistencies here?

You start a new nob so can't go to Robbie but it's a back up plan (so why do you care about this one) you've got a cm but wanted to give notice to the nanny on 28 Aug because you had a nursery place and your dh has Wednesdays off but equally, would have to turn up to his £750 a day pm job (that daily rate is perfectly usual where I work, so that's the bit that rings truest for me!) even if he had blood coming from his eyes BUT, get this, has EVERY Wednesday OFF! Beggars belief!

new Job, not new nob, sorry!

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 18:00

She would rather work for Tesco's than work for anyone else, does that not tell you that I am a good person to work for and pay her very well.

She's an ofstead registered Nanny - hows that for confusion !!!

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 03/09/2006 18:01

Oh, and you give ALL your pay straight to the CM? Why wouldn't you cut out the middle man and resign?

Twiglett · 03/09/2006 18:01

tells me that she tried politely to get rid of you by saying she needed more money but you didn't get the hint and said you'd use her every day

sounds like she's too nice to sack you

either she's made up a death and a potentially life-threatening condition just to not have to look after your child

or she's just had a bereavement and a health scare

up to you to decide

either way its about HER not about YOU

world revolve around you much does it?

there's a certain 'cruella de ville' ness about this character that you're developing

very funny

thanks for the smiles

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 18:02

Well twiglett we may well find out if that's the case soon enough.
