My CM has found a lump in her breast which obviously she's worried sick about and has booked herself an appointment at a private hospital for Tuesday, she's told me this, not asked if it's ok iyswim. Now I know i'd be worried to death about finding a lump but I really cannot take this time off and DH would be unpaid which we can't afford. I don't want to sound like a heartless cow but she had Friday off at short notice for an uncles funeral and now this, would it be completely awful to ask her to rebook for Wednesday ?

"Rusty - I don't swear I actually reserve swearing for very special occassins and to go out of your way to do something like that I think is quite pathetic don't you ? "

tortoise - seen as how swearing is allowed on mumsnet - get fucked you little idiot.!"
Right, presumably this was a very special occasion.

But you are HER client, you are not HER employer - unless she is a nanny and you pay the relevent tax and NI, in which case she shouldnt be caring for your child outside of your home

OMG this is beginning to remind me of a mad hatters tea-party

you almost couldn't make this up

I've only met one person who actually gave a feck about their appearance to this extent .. and we lost touch after a molluscum incident when she proved to be totally barking

how very very amusing

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 19:09

She can find more work of course but as i have also said it's not what she wants, it's not what i want.

I am confused - doesn't take much

Angela, I thought your children (3 of them all girls) had a nanny, as you were looking at a way to dismiss your nanny, as your older two children are now at school and a place has come up at a nursery for your youngest child. See this thread dated 28 August 2006

So wanted to clarify if we were talking about a Childminder or a Nanny?

Flossam · 03/09/2006 19:26

Yes Angela, DS spend some time this afternoon, following his nap watching a video. Since we have moved I have made a big effort not to come on here during the day and to spend it with DS. Which bar nap times is what I stick to. I was MSN an old friend this afternoon at the same time, so spent more time on the computer (after DS's nap than I would usually). I don't feel for one afternoon in a blue moon that is wrong, and you won't make me think it is. At least I don't have a pretence of being an attachment parent when I quite clearly am not to name just one thing...

By AngelaChill on Sunday, 3 September, 2006 6:01:13 PMShe's an ofstead registered Nanny - hows that for confusion !!!

I Am still lol at being told to get fucked for the 1st time on mn!

intergalacticwalrus · 03/09/2006 19:33

Mental. You came on here looking for peoples opinions about your situtaion, which you were given. There have been some who have sympathised with you, and there have been lots of excellent suggestions given as to alternative childcare, which you have chosen to ignore I totally understand that you have reservations about leaving your child with just anyone, as there are only 4 people in the whole world I yrust with DS, but if I was in such a fix as you, I would put my reservations aside, given that your child would be perfectly safe in the hands of an experienced and police checked childminder.

I think resigning because you can't get childcrae for one day is a total overreaction tbh. You are just being awkward for the sake of it, as far as I can see.

I have just sat and read this thread from the beginning, it doesn't add up at all!

intergalacticwalrus · 03/09/2006 19:38

Christ if my DP was earning 750 notes a day, the last thing on my mind would be childcare!!!!!

Still don;t get the whole attachment parenting thing either. There are some issues here methinks.
