My CM has found a lump in her breast which obviously she's worried sick about and has booked herself an appointment at a private hospital for Tuesday, she's told me this, not asked if it's ok iyswim. Now I know i'd be worried to death about finding a lump but I really cannot take this time off and DH would be unpaid which we can't afford. I don't want to sound like a heartless cow but she had Friday off at short notice for an uncles funeral and now this, would it be completely awful to ask her to rebook for Wednesday ?

Ok Rusty, you missed the post where I stated I did not buy the Loola on mumsnet, I have only ever had one Loola, they are crap I shall not be having another Loola, but if you'd like to swap with me you'd be most welcome ...

The grandparents are in their 70's so can't keep up with a two year old, but can hobble to church.

wtf is a Loola, anyway?. This thread is making my head swim.

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 18:17

Greensleeves - it's a buggy - very heavy on the steering wouldn't recommend it lol

No I saw your post that you didn't buy it, but you were apparently interested enough to agree to meet half way - so why if you think they're crap?

I didn't know it was crap until I bought one from elsewhere, i tired it yesterday around the Bullring in Birmingham whilst visiting my mother having spent quality time with my children watching Dora the Explorer at the Alex theatre, the show started at 2pm, we had popcorn.

Next ???

Carla still posts, she changed her name but is still around regularly.

Flossam · 03/09/2006 18:39

I think I am on the same page of the book as you WWW and Batters.

rustybear · 03/09/2006 18:41

Love your response to tortoise on the loola thread - I'm surprised you haven't sworn at me yet.
Actually I've been having difficulty in believing in you as a real person since I read this thread

Flossam · 03/09/2006 18:43

Right my DP has come home with choccies and wine and I have spent too much time neglecting DS with barney video's for this thread to have any more of my time today. I'm off to serve dinner.

Uh this thread has turned abit mad but in case no one has mentioned it:

  1. Ring round your local nurseries - mine does last-minute places and this would be a great week because there might be lots of spaces as it is the most common week of the year for toddlers to go on holiday!

  2. Ring a nanny agency

I'd better check on the chicken too. at the choccies & wine Flossam - my DH has gone straight from a weekend at PIL up to Manchester till Tuesday - I miss him! -

morningpaper · 03/09/2006 18:49

this is the EASIEST week of the year to find pre-school childcare because toddlers are OFF with the cheapo holidays

AngelaChill · 03/09/2006 18:51

Rusty - I don't swear I actually reserve swearing for very special occassins and to go out of your way to do something like that I think is quite pathetic don't you ?
And as for wanting to be a bit glam in the photo's for my child's first day at school, i really don't think that's very unusual, some might but then some arrive at the school gates in their nightwear, I don't judge.

Morning paper - honestly lets not go there, it's all been done to death now.

Flossam, you've stuck your kid in front of a video to "discuss" this, crickey.

Happy - i could probably get Jo Frost herself but she wouldn't be up to Kathy (cm/nanny's) standard, I really only have one requirement from a CM/nanny and that's to love my child which isn't available for any hourly rate.

Angela I had read the thread and no one had mentioned that you can get last-minute nursery places, and that this is the easiest week to do so, as far as I can see.

But honey, just give up work. Life's too short. Our children will hate us and be in therapy in 15 years so make the most of it now if you feel so strongly.

No it doesn't matter to me but it will matter to the redundant CM which is the point of the whole blooming thread.
