I can't find the thread with the e-petition link and the one with the other link to the Labour Party website.....how strange!

Hi Italiana
Not all of your threads have disappeared. Here's one which we kept as it was an interesting discussion but we don't really encourage links to e-petitions

@Italiana

Nowhere does it say you can't post links to e-petitions but people still look for childcare ..which is not allowed! Be fair Mumsnet!
We do try to be fair. Honest. In our talk guidelines We explain: We have no problem with people posting the odd link to other sites that other posters might find useful or helpful. But we will delete anyone's attempts to "spam" the boards with links, as a way of promoting their own site or product or blog or e-petition, as it annoys our members. We really don't have anything against this specific e-petition some of us may have signed ourselves in a personal capacity but try to stick to our guidelines as much as possible on a case-by-case basis. Hi Italiana
We rely on our members to let us know using the report button if they see something that is against our guidelines, whether that's a personal attack, a cheeky advert promoting something, or something like this.

We can only reiterate that we have to stick to our guidelines. Again to reiterate we left the thread containing the valid discussion because one thing we are absolutely FOR is the freedom of speech and the right to discuss things like this.

Really hope this clear things up.
