OH admitted to hospital Thursday - because I made him go!!!- with pneumonia, taken a turn for worse, not sure if he will pull through.....

Can't cope......

Managed to cancel 1 mindee for Monday, can't get hold of other parents and really not able to do face-to-face at the moment without turning into a puffa fish . Feel really bad about cancelling but can't possibly look after LO when cant look after myself. Would it be wrong to send a family member round to tell them? Have arranged cover with another cm child knows and has been minded by before.

Christ I feel shite!

On top of all this DS is 6 this wk and might not get to see daddy......

Sorry all, but at least you cant here me crying , phonecalls tonight to friends have ended in floods.

Hope news changes for better tomorrow sending lot's of {{{hugs}}} for you and your ds. Remember to take care of yourself too put your feet up if you can and even if you can't sleep try and rest.

underpaid - so sorry that there is no improvement and that you are having issues with OHs family.

Please do what you can to put your needs first - you need to stay strong to get through this.

Oh underpaid, I am so sorry to hear this, I had pneumonia last winter, was blue lighted into hospital after collapsing.

I was on IV antibiotics and oxygen for 6 days, 4 before they really started to do anything.

Dont let anybody put anymore stress on you, your OH just needs you at the moment. I know I didnt want to see anybody else but DH, not even grown up DS and DDIL.

I hope he is on the mend this morning.

( And dont worry about mindees, my Families were brilliant, they arranged all the childcare between themselves and a CM friend.)

Didn't log on yesterday so only just seen your thread. My heart goes out to you & your family. i've nothing else I can add to the wisdom already given by everyone else and to reassure you you are doing the right things but can send lots of (((((hugs))))) and prayers for better news soon

just seen yout thread.. so very very sorry but pneumonia can be a long haul to deal with and it can take a while to see an improvment..

dont worry about his family, all raw at the monent and will sort itself out in time.. you are the one calling the shots, if they cant see 8 round a bed is silly then thats just ridiculous.. and the hospital staff should be intervening anyway... i always did..

Sending you and your family my very best wishes . My SIL had this about 6 weeks ago and it really was about a fortnight before any real improvement was seen so please take heart. She is doing great now though just v tired.

Keeping everything crossed for your hubby and you.

No change - though no worse so am trying to be positive. They now think he might have glandular fever as well and are running loads of tests next 24 hrs. Part of the problem is he cant sleep on the ward they have him on because of the other patients. They have some empty side rooms so might ask he can be moved into one of them so he can rest.

Had first tears off DS tonight and I havent told him yet that he wont be seeing daddy on his birthday on Friday . At least I've stopped crying every time I speak to people - for now at least!

You have all given me so much advice, support and the biggest hugs - keep them coming, it means a lot!

Hope tomorrow brings some improvements/test results and yes some sleep for him!
