Not a homebirther personally but wanting to offer support to Boobz and others who are going for a home birth . . .

Aww ships - good luck. I've got everything crossed for you, apart from my legs.

Well, ctx seem to become more regular when I was resting in bed (DH looking after Penpots) but then we all went for a dog walk and things slowed down again. Then went to pub on way back in for a cheeky glass of vino and I had my show in the pub loos! Nice. So looks like we're definitely on for something over the next couple of days, but nothing too painful or regular so far.

Boobz · 08/06/2010 18:58

All seems to have stopped now - sigh.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 08/06/2010 19:22

we're gunning for you boobz, or else I'll make you do circuits at soft play tomorrow...clearly wine and bacon sandwiches are the cure

Boobz · 08/06/2010 19:46

Might be sending Ed to soft play without me... will see how it's going in the morning. I kind of need to hold out so the cleaner can come tomorrow as the place is filthy! Don't want the wee one coming into a dirty house.

Really nothing happening at all now. Guess it was a false start.

shipsladyg · 08/06/2010 20:01

sigh. Poor you Boobz. I hope things pick up again as you're relaxing this evening (if you want them to that is).

Just spent fifteen minutes with a breast pump trying to encourage some action. Can't get comfortable anywhere and have officially hit the fed up stage. If it wasn't for blood test tomorrow, I'd so have a glass of wine.

Crazycatlady · 08/06/2010 20:04

I can't believe you're holding out for the cleaner! To be fair, I'd do the same ...

thinking of you, lots of love xx

Boobz · 08/06/2010 20:05

Have a glass of wine!

Boobz · 08/06/2010 20:50

Thanks Crazy - you and I are cut from the same (clean) cloth.

Ctx back - albeit pretty pansy-ish type ones and still very irregular. Stop start, stop start. Brilliant.

Crazycatlady · 08/06/2010 21:23

At least it's a week when she's not due at mine first!

Hope things speed up for you overnight, or if not then allow you get some sleep.

Boobz · 08/06/2010 22:01

TENS machine is on; will try and get an early night...

justbeme · 08/06/2010 22:46

Ohh Boobz - good luck!!
I awoke in the night with the most awful full on pains for about an hour and then they stopped.
Saw the MW today, who said that the head wasn't down enough and maybe it was just the baby getting into a good position - WTF, felt like I was in the throes of full on labour!!
Has been niggling all day, but she said she wouldn't do an internal as there was no way I was "near"!!
So Im still pinning it all happening on thursday - and if not I have to go into hospitla on friday for a scan/monitoring etc

kanga5 · 08/06/2010 23:52

good luck boobz, looks like you are on your way...will be trying to "look in" on you, are you going to be on a new thread topic? (maybe you've had him/her overnight???!!!)

xx

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 09/06/2010 00:14

thinking of you (and ed and pen and jacks), come on baby boobz, let's make it 2 days max this time...

Boobz · 09/06/2010 02:31

justbeme - you poor thing - it's so disheartening to think "this is it" and then to get nowhere - I was like that last time. Am trying to be less worried about it this time...

...went to bed a few hours ago with some quite painful ctx and the tens machine buzzing but managed to get to sleep ok and was kind of dosing between ctx, and then they must have really tailed off as I went to sleep properly. Was woken up by DD crying - DH sleeping right through it as he'd left the monitor downstairs and is a heavy sleeper (I was in spare room!) so got up to her and now am up and wondering where the ctx have gone to. Will try to go back to sleep I guess...

Hey Kanga - didn't put an announcement that it was kicking off on here, over on the antenatal thread, as wanted it to be proper labour this time, IFSWIM.

Thanks GWTMH - one can hope! Looks like I will be coming to soft play tomorrow at this rate...

Boobz · 09/06/2010 06:54

Morning all! Still here. Ctx very irregular and not too strong to the point I could sleep between them and through them, I think, last night. Tens still buzzing and have had 4 ctx since I got up 45 mins ago, but all breathable through with tens, so nothing exciting happening here. Going to take the dog for a walk and then work out whether it's a good idea to take DD to soft play with him, or to stay at home...

Boobz · 09/06/2010 06:55

Him being DH, not the dog...

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 09/06/2010 07:28

still moving though boobz which can only be good...how long is Juliet on duty til?

Boobz · 09/06/2010 11:43

Soft play done, DD asleep, 2 hour dog walk here we come... (ctx seem to be getting stronger and closer together but might be imagining it).

Baby here by Sat at this rate - groan.

Boobz · 09/06/2010 14:50

Went for dog walk, was having ctx every 5 mins or so, but an hour into it, they started coming every 2 mins and I was HOWLING in the street. Got caught in a down-pour - mooing under a tree, clutching onto DH, with dog and DD wondering what all the commotion was and all 4 of us getting wet!

Ctx suddenly got a lot more painful on return journey... so much so we called the MW. She came, was examined and am 4cm! Woooo! So they're staying. Still not allowed gas and air yet though.

Another ctx coming...

shipsladyg · 09/06/2010 16:02

Yay! excellent news Boobz. Sending you good vibes across the tinternet ether.

No news here. FAU was fine... get bloods back on Friday unless I can encourage junior out. Might just have that glass of wine tonight!

FessaEst · 09/06/2010 17:49

Just checking in to wish good luck to Boobz!

(Have been a lurker for ages, had my DD at home in water partly inspired by this thread)

Wheelybug · 09/06/2010 17:56

popping in to cheer Boobz on !! will report action on the March 09 thread - hope that's ok !!

Good luck !

justbeme · 09/06/2010 20:28

Woo hoo Boobz - hope you're ok!!
Nothing much here - think Ive had a small show and irregular pains throughout day...

Boobz · 09/06/2010 21:47

Constance Ella Reed was born at home at 7pm this evening, weighing in at 7lbs. Connie is a stunner; mum, dad and Penelope all smitten.

Wheelybug · 09/06/2010 21:51
