I can't believe this may be a full moon baby! I've had strong back feelings going on all afternoon, then in the evening they moved to the front and now its period ouchy and regular...

Co-Codamol fine, 4 hourly to 6 hourly, but max of 8 tablets in 24 hours - usual paracetamol malarky.

treedelivery · 16/01/2009 13:32

X post sorry!! Not contraindicated but up to you.
If it's a labour though flf, then really they wont do a great deal iyswim?

fourlittlefeet · 16/01/2009 13:37

ok, in that case I'll save the cocodamol for afterwards. getting really sore now but still only for 1 min in every 5.

Honestly flf, once the labour arrives it's all about having the pain and coping through it, or getting the biggie pain relief to help you cope. It's such a nippy bugger that the regular pain relief doesn't really affect it to a great extent tbh. From what I've seen anyway.
Have had some biggies myself here, can type through the back ache but not the contractions. It's all good.

fourlittlefeet · 16/01/2009 14:24

well... we've spent the past hour putting the chandelier up - so am probably still establishing. found the paracetamol did help a bit, must be psycho-somatic. can't sit on the ball as it causes almighty painful ones and I'm not a masochist, so maybe i'm doing this all wrong!

tinkisfourtyweeks · 16/01/2009 15:20

fourlittlefeet · 16/01/2009 15:51

its been swinging from ROA to LOA. things seemed to have stopped, they are less painful and only every 20 or so

OP posts:
Lulumama · 16/01/2009 15:52

don;t be sad ! things are getting going... take a break, eat something and have a sleep !

treedelivery · 16/01/2009 15:54

Calming down here too flf, despite 2nd sweep.

It's my arse if I may say so!! Ah well. TUT!!!

OP posts:
fourlittlefeet · 16/01/2009 16:50

baby has shifted from ROA to LOA. maybe that was it?

OP posts:
Lulumama · 16/01/2009 16:55

so in a good position !! things will pick up again.. you need to relax now if you can, eat something, have another bath, get a sleep

your body will let oyu know when it is time to pay attention again

all these ctx are doign stuff !

fourlittlefeet · 16/01/2009 17:00

thank you so much for encouragement. really thought this was 'it'. packed off DD for the night, mentally rolled up my sleeves...just to stop with nada.

they are starting to get painful again but will try and lie down for a bit and claim a footie massage off DP.

OP posts:
Lulumama · 16/01/2009 17:02

any excuse for a foot rub, my dear !

BabyStarlightsMum · 16/01/2009 17:06

Ah four ! It may well be frustrating, - but your body is still working.

When it comes to 'it' you'll probably only need to cough (how I delivered the placenta)!

fourlittlefeet · 16/01/2009 17:44

lol. really tired and fed up now. not coping with the pains very well as a result. this is hideous. normally would have gone to hospital, had progress checked, tried to get some pain relief, but am too worried that its not established and they'll try and keep me in. . I thought labour was meant to be exciting

OP posts:
Lulumama · 16/01/2009 17:46

maybe time for another bath? are they more frequent/stronger?

or are you just tired?

also if things don;t calm down in teh bath, you are more likely to be in establised labour

BabyStarlightsMum · 16/01/2009 17:46

LOL No! I never found it exciting. Pretty tedious if I'm honest, - but whatever it feels like it won't go on forever.

You'll see.....'cough - oh hello baby, was that it?'

Lulumama · 16/01/2009 17:46

you can go in if you feel you need some more reassurance/pain relief.

If you haven't got dd to worry about this evening why not go in and get checked over? they might keep you in so take bag, etc. but they might not...

Although i'm anti-hospitals so not one to advise!!

but if you are starting to get a bit down they may cheer you up a bit?

BabyStarlightsMum · 16/01/2009 17:49

Have you played with the contraction timer?

When I was in labour and didn't think I was I had a play just for the hell of it and realised that my contractions were actually 5 mins apart and very very regular.

fourlittlefeet · 16/01/2009 17:56

floods of tears prompted DP to run a bath. They are strong and every 10 mins, but not quite as bad as they were this afternoon, almost like its beginning to pick up again. I think I'm really tired to and missing DD (feeling that I've sent her away in vain, and this is only my second night away from her). Sorry to whinge. Braving tens removal and into the bath in the hope of chilling out a bit. Will retime them after that if they pick up; last time when I got out of the bath they were increadibly strong indeed.
