Congratulation Peachy!

VS - your turn next?

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 15:37

Lol BR, it's just the first thing that came into my head, it's not exactly a science!

Lulu, I answered on the VBAC thread but I actually feel strangely calm and positive, as long as the mw says everything is fine with the baby then I'm changing it to next week.

41 weeks is long enough.

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 15:41

VS, good for you. I'm glad you're feeling positive as this is such a positive decision you've made.

I forgive you for predicting another 6 days of having the hell kicked out of me. DH would prefer a weekend so he'll be happy at least!!

Bread will be ready in 4 hours. What would you like on your nice fresh slice of homemade granary?

BR

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 15:44

Marmite.

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 15:49

MMmm marmite. Great choice.

I like marmite and cheese. Or marmite and honey... mm not sure I can wait 4 hours...

BR

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 15:49

Anyone else fancy a slice?

DonDons · 07/04/2008 16:01

marmite and honey together??

thanks lulu and congratulations peachy

good luck VS! I have appointment on 24 April at hospital (will be 41+2 then) - can anyone tell me what will happen at that? (stooopid first timer)

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 16:21

Ooh yes... lovely. I always used to have a slice of honey and a slice of marmite on toast when I was a kid and decided to make a sandwich and see what it was like. I love it

DonDons · 07/04/2008 16:23

nope...just...can't.. bring...self to do it...it's just not right

lol at one slice of marmite and one of honey though - I still do that now! (marmite first though right? honey is for 'afters'...)

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 16:25

Argh, bloody decisions!
Now I'm even more confused.
Apparently my cervix isreally far forward, completely anterior, and really soft, she said she would've expected it to be slightly dilated this soft and forward but it's not dilated, at all. So she couldn't even do the sweep.
Apparently baby is also in the most perfect position possible for labour.
If only I was dilated!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/04/2008 16:29

VS don't be disheartened, it's a start, and a bloody good one at that.

Can you get your dp to do a 'partner sweep' tonight?!

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 16:34

Lol, If I could I would, but my cervix won't admit a fingertip
She said she gave it as much of a wriggle as she could without causing damage but not to hold out for anything happening.

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 16:41

You know, it never even occurred to me that this could happen.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/04/2008 16:49

VS - take heart. With my first pg I had a sweep at 40 weeks. The mw attempted a sweep, but said it wasn't possible and that I had a cervix like someone at 38 weeks (aaaarrrrggghhh). However, 8 days later I went into spontaneous labour without any warning signs. So, chin up and scoff down those raspberry tea tablets like they're going out of fashion

Lulumama · 07/04/2008 16:55

so

anterior : check

soft: check

good position for labour : check

so , next stage is dilation!! you are getting there

POSITIVE THINKING !!!

if everything is getting good to go, then that is great stuff

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 16:57

I thoguht she was you for a second lulu, she said 'Is your husband up for sex?' 'Do plenty of it.'

Lulumama · 07/04/2008 17:18

seeeee ! I talk complete and utter sense !

now get off here and have a bonk!

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 17:19

Shall I just grab some random dude off the street then?
Thought it would be better to wait for DP to get home

bunnyrabbit · 07/04/2008 18:23

VS, you're so picky!!

VictorianSqualor · 07/04/2008 19:11

Lol.
CS still being rescheduled so I now have about 8 days til the cut and shut.
Pray for me ladies!

Fleecy · 07/04/2008 21:54

Haven't been online since Sat - exciting news Peachy, congratulations! Am about to read the full story...

Thanks Scorpio for telling me about your previous labours. I know it sounds silly that I worry I might not know but I was getting paranoid because we have to be at the hospital to have antibiotics 4 hrs before baby arrives.

Lulu - thanks for the homebirth info. I've had a good look and I've got more than one risk factor so on balance I think I'm better off being in hospital and having the antibiotics than risking the consequences of not having them (however small a chance it is!). Luckily at our local hospital, they won't keep us in after labour, they'll just test the baby then send us home and let us know the results laterso we shouldn't be in too long anyway (fingers crossed).

Good luck with dilating VS. Glad you've got yourself some more time.

Fleecy · 07/04/2008 21:57

Ooh and can you predict when my lo will finally arrive? Due today but nothing yet. Off to bed...

QuintessentialShadows · 07/04/2008 21:59

VS, you still here?

Shouldnt you be dusting the skirting boards?

or having sex?
just trying to be helpful....

Lulumama · 08/04/2008 07:18

you ar welcome fleecy

good morning all
