Home Birth Planned - Overdue

Hi all,

I'm currently 41 + 1 and hoping to have a home water birth.

According to my hospital they will only allow you to go Term + 12 which will take me to Tuesday.

I've had a sweep yesterday and apparently the "Presenting part (head) is still high" my notes say 3 above spine. Also in my notes on my 20wk scan (was 20+1) it was reading I was 19+6 and 19+2 depending on different measurements.

I'm absolutely petrified of having to go into hospital to be induced. What rights do I have to refuse the induction and still have a homebirth? Can I use the fact that at 20 weeks I was possibly only 19 and therefore now only actually 6 days over?

Thanks all

galaxymummy · 18/01/2008 17:43

I know mums who go to 43wk especially if have long cycle.
local consultant reading suggests frequent monitoring etc and watchful waiting
go back to aims for more support
keeping fingers xx you go in to labou, my friend has just moved house and is keeping her legs closed until fridge arrives.

Hi girlies!!

Thanks for looking after me over the last few days and sorry for not posting earlier but as DP has said it was abit of an event. During which he was the best ever!!

Have you seen how nice he's been on here now I can't EVER winge about him cos he's got you all on his side!!
He's totally in love with her, and as we speak is dancing around the living room with her to Stevie Wonder songs!

Still no name yet (i'm such a bad mummy.... lol)

My cut is quite cute and it was not as bad as I thought but I'm so glad to be outta that hospital...

She's sleeping through pretty much already... Went to sleep at 9:15pm last night and woke again for a quick bum change and feed at 2am before sleeping till 7am again it's nice.

I'll try and keep up but it's abit of a shock still at the mo so bear with me!
