Doubt you've finished yet.. you'll probably be offloading variously shaped chods for a days or two yet

Congratulations and all

They should make cards, "Congrats on the passing of your First Postnatal Poo"

Pecka - glad it's out, and also glad you posted as the exact same thing hapenned to me a few months ago - thought I was some kind of freak. Also did mine in shifts and all the other stuff on here - should be all fine now it's gone. next time I am going to insist on an enema before the birth. I too had an easy birth and quick pushing stage - maybe that is why as we didn't have so long to push out accumulated poo from the weeks of pregnancy constipation.

Anyway, glad it's out, was following progress with sympathy.

stleger · 12/01/2008 20:43

I can't believe I came on line to check progress! Well done.

Keep taking whatever you choose to keep things going smoothly - lactulose, prunes, whatever - and keep drinking plenty. In a few weeks time start cutting down on them, do not stop cold-turkey.

And now, relaaaaax and enjoy motherhood

PeckaRolloverAgain · 14/01/2008 09:40

Whoever said it wasnt over yet was right - am taking the advice to keep drinking lots (hadnt been) and hoping for the best.

Feeling way, way, way better.

Can anyone advise, if it is a rectocele or whatever its called do I need to see a doctor or is it more likely just that I got very constipated when everything was still confused down there?

Hi Pecka

I think it would be worth mentioning to your GP but time is a great healer with this kind of thing and I would give it a few months to see if it settles by itself, continue with the advice on here about constipation, feet on stool etc and see how it goes.

You might have missed this link here earlier but it expains it quite well.

Glad youre feeling better though.

Ah, childbirth.... the gift that keeps on giving.

Don't worry, soon all you will have left to remind you of this period of your life are the great big fat piles.

stichlilo18 · 05/06/2008 11:41

is it safe to have sex if i have cystocele?

MummyToOneForNow · 07/06/2008 14:00

Sorry for a minor hijack but having read this thread I think I have a rectocele (hasn't caused any problems so hadn't gone to GP but visible inside entrance to vagina).

Do rectoceles cause any problems when giving birth to subsequent children or will it just be effectively pushed out of the way?

MummyToOneForNow · 07/06/2008 22:18

Have just realised this is an old thread - will start a new thread with my question.

Aero · 07/06/2008 22:34

Best advice I had re v v bad constipation after dd was to drink hot water. Take a cup to the loo with me when I was going. Usually after two cups or so there was movement. I reckon the water helps push things through and the heat softens it a little making it easier to pass (apologies for tmi).

You have my total sympathy - I never knew constipation pain could be so bad before dd was born! Also, I discovered the co-codamol I'd been prescribed for afterpains was making matters much worse, so I stopped using it and took paracetamol instead.

Aero · 07/06/2008 22:36

Oh, indeed it is old! for sharing such delightful information! Moving swiftly on..................

beeny · 07/06/2008 22:47

Lots of prune juice its amazing had to take mobile to toilet to ring husband

tittybangbang · 08/06/2008 14:22

You may have a weakness in your vaginal wall so that your stool is going into a sort of 'pocket' when you bear down. This has happened to me and I'm afraid I had to put two fingers in my vagina and press against it while I was pooing so that it went in the right direction. It only happened a couple of times when I was horribly constipated and the weakness seems to have sorted itself out now. I'd still run it past your doctor and in the meantime - drink lots and hoover up some dried fruit.
