Klaw · 05/01/2008 15:12

Natural Mothering is not 30 mins from me and I really must go and have a chat with her and try some out

Stay strong Lisa, we're right here with you!

lulumama · 05/01/2008 15:47

hoping things are moving along for jamilla..... going out soon,so might not get back on line, so will check back later x happy birthing xxxxxx

jamila169 · 05/01/2008 18:54

I'm really really low at the minute, My midwife has knocked off for the night, so if and when things get going,I'll get a total stranger, plus the hospital is 25 minutes away and from things getting going to Amy being born was 30 minutes -not exactly conducive to labouring is it. I need some positive vibes coming my way

Hang in there - here's what's going to happen - it'll all be quiet till just before 12 - allowing you all to get some rest. Then you'll get some strong contractions which will cause you to call the midwife - who will arrive in 15 mins (don't ask me how) and will turn out to be the best and most lovely person you've ever met (that bit really happened to me with dd3 - nver seen her before but she was BRILLIANT) - she'll have time to get set up and then your baby will arrive. You're a pro - you can do this - you are going to birth this baby brilliantly and there are lots of mad women on the internet cheering you on!!

Lomond · 05/01/2008 19:05

Just popping on to wish you luck! Don't get low, soon you will have a little baby to hold.

Klaw · 05/01/2008 19:15

Lisa, if you would like to actually talk to someone I'm here, CAT me or email me with your landline number.

and yes, if you can go have a snooze then do so, you will wake up when the contractions get too strong again.

Perhaps have a glass of wine or a Baileys or soemthing, relax, chill, get dh to massage your feet or head or back or whatever it is you like.

Perhaps have a soak in the bath but try not to recline, or else stand in the shower till the hot water runs out.

Baby needs to turn, your body is trying to help it, listen to your body, trust your instincts.

And I mean it, I am here if you want to talk.

mom2latinoboys · 05/01/2008 19:19

Relax, every labor is different. You may not get started until the morning anyway.

jamila169 · 05/01/2008 19:19

thanks Klaw, I might take you up on that

spugs · 05/01/2008 19:32

dont worry chick, i have drawn out pre labours that take forever to get going. try to rest as much as you can and if you cant try and stay upright. (but without knackering yourself out) baby will get here eventually

JustMissyNow · 05/01/2008 23:11

sorry no news folks - didn't get my 3rd homebirth i ended up going into hospital with an APH 5:30 sunday morning, things were still not really getting going, and I had another bleed at 2:30 this morning, ended up going for ARM as cervix was very stretchy and our DD2 was born at 4:14 this morning, DH was at home with the boys so was just me and the midwife. She was a bit sceptical whem I told her the head was imminent -but I soon proved her wrong 2nd stage was officially 11 minutes . Will post more later, no name yet, but she was 7 lb 12 has fluffy hair and looks like she'll have dark eyes .Job done!
