Anybody want to keep each other company? In similar positions? I’m 39 weeks and 2 days. It’s my third and I’ve been in the latent phase of labour for over a week! I’ve lost my plug in bits throughout the week. Contractions started and faded away. I am not used to this as my other two births were early and super fast. I’ve had a
Lot of pain in my lower back and have been told she’s back to back. Felt like I’m constipated all day but I’m not it’s it’s pressure. Hoping she’s turned as I’ve read some horror stories. Tried curry, pineapple , walking and nothing seems to have worked. I have been feeling a bit funny today, just off, almost fluey, anyone want to share their signs or in my case lack of 😂

Almost 36 weeks this week with dc3, I feel like I've been pregnant forever too. How old are your other 2? What are your plans for birth?
Kt1111 · 27/02/2022 23:20

@springbaby22 they are 10 and 11! So massive age gap. I’m now 34. Possibly why I’m taking so long to get in established labour. I was booked for a c sec as she was breech but now she’s turned so I’m waiting to hopefully have a natural birth. A bit frustrated as if I had the c section she’d be here by now . But hopefully not too much longer to wait. I had natural births with just gas and air so hoping for the same but if I’m needing more I will have it. I don’t really have a plan, just going to see what happens. This Last week is killer, while pregnancy has whizzed by and this week is dragging x

I'll join you. I'm about two weeks away but feeling so uncomfortable. Also number three. Wish there was a way of making it hurry up!!!

Kt1111 · 01/03/2022 14:30

Me too @dreamygirl25. I had my first 2 weeks early and 2nd 4 weeks early. I’m now 39 and 4! Third babies can be awkward according to midwife haha. I’ve started with some dull aches today. Not painful but coming and going! Praying this is the start x

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news OP but you are DEFINITELY going to be pregnant forever I’m afraid Grin
Nah just kidding. I feel for you though, the end days of pregnancy are approx 6 years long anyway and doubly so with a third baby IME! My third labour was similarly drawn out. On the plus side, once it really got going she was out in a few hours so hopefully it’ll be quick and easy for you! Being back to back is probably at least partly why too - lots of time on hands and knees/a comfy equivalent might help (will at least drop her forwards and take some pressure off your back).

Good luck! Hope it’s not long for you now 🤞

Any sign of baby yet? X
dreamygirl25 · 01/03/2022 19:10

Dull aches! Sounds hopeful. My bump has gone quite hard and my lower back is hurting today. I think I've eaten too much, can't possibly be labour yet for me. I bet you thought you'd go early this time if you were the last two times! Fingers crossed you come back with an update that baby has been born!

I'm 36 weeks today and been getting loose stools and tightenings. They seem to be in a pattern but not lasting long. Same as you dull back ache and period like cramps. I'm not sure if they're braxton hicks though.

I'm not ready and terrified of what's to come, I'd rather be pregnant for longer and not have to go through the birth lol. How are you remaining so calm?

dreamygirl25 · 01/03/2022 21:37

Are you nervous about the birth? I'm not staying calm. I'm nervous too. But I've got haemorrhoids and vulva vasicolous (or however you spell it) and I'm so irritable with my other two children I'm desperate to have the baby and maybe have a night or two in hospital with my newborn and a nice book /Netflix with out being dragged around by my little finger to play with cars!

Kt1111 · 02/03/2022 14:13

@springbaby22 no sign yet!! 2 days to due date! Just want to see my baby girl now! Arghhh x

Kt1111 · 07/03/2022 07:36

I’m not 40 weeks and 3 days. I’ve been nervous but now I’m out feeling nervous and am just so excited and eager to meet my little lady! I’m so fed up now. Last night I was up 8 times for a wee! I know when she’s here I’ll be up to feed etc but I’ll have help and at least will get a few hours unbroken sleep! I’m getting an hour at a time now. None of the natural ways to bring labour on work!getting very impatient and worried that it’s less time with my baby before I’m back to work

boymummys · 07/03/2022 07:45

@Kt1111
I've never read something as true as your last statement, everyone keeps saying to me oh get use to having no sleep! While Infact I'll get more sleep when the babies here then I do now 😂😂

I've still got five weeks left, I have insomnia a five year old, who still needs to get up and ready for school, achy legs and pins and needles in my arms. I'm currently getting about 3 hours broken sleep a night😩 I don't even want to think about how your feeling right now!

Just for reference a couple of things that may have helped me go into labour the first time we're

Sex
Curb walking
Long walks
Hot curries

I ended up having him on my due date.

Good luck x

Kt1111 · 07/03/2022 07:50

@boymummys I had my previous two children early. One at 38 weeks and one at 35 weeks so I think just expected her to be early too has made it seem worse. I don’t want to be induced Friday because I won’t be able to have my water birth so hoping she’s here very soon. Xx

You don't have to be induced and can still have a water birth at 42, even 43 weeks. They try to pressure you but as long as your pregnancy is not high risk, 42-43 weeks is completely normal. It's the medical system that have made us believe in the 40 weeks. Just like our menstrual cycles differ in length, so does pregnancy.

CorpusCallosum · 08/03/2022 00:18

Evening solidarity here ✊ I'm 40+3 - Braxton Hicks for 10+ days, loss of mucus etc. I've given myself 3 proper 'it's happening!' false alarms only to end up waking up 3hrs later needing a wee and with no baby.

Clearly these babies are never moving out & we will be pregnant forever 🙈

lougo · 08/03/2022 00:25

I was 42 weeks when I was induced , don't think you Can go.any longer as placenta stop working

bluebird3 · 08/03/2022 00:31

Can I join? I'm 39w tomorrow with my 2nd. Went to 41+2 with my first so really hoping this one comes sooner. I've had lots of braxton hicks and achy back for about a week now. Super swollen and horrible carpal tunnel which means I'm also not sleeping well! I can't actually wait until the baby is here and I can sleep better. It was the same with my first. It was such a relief the carpal tunnel went away and I could actually sleep, even if woken every 3 hours or so.

Kt1111 · 08/03/2022 06:59

@CorpusCallosum I’m 40 + 4 now and exactly same as you! I went for a walk yesterday and the. Had some good pains. Woke up and nothing!! I hve no car today and can guarantee she’ll come today now 😂

@bluebird3 welcome! I love watching threads like this to see when people go into labour. Hope you go earlier this time round!

@lougo after having two little early babies M now stressing about her size and if I can do it! I think I’ve waited so long my excitement has turned to anxiety! If she’s not here by Friday I will be induced as they said they’ll do it after 1 week as I’ve been 1cm for 2 weeks now x

OP posts:
CorpusCallosum · 08/03/2022 15:39

So exciting that you know how dilated you are already & Friday as a final deadline - at least you can plan!

I have a S&S planned for tomorrow afternoon. When I booked it with the midwife nearly 2 weeks ago I thought 9 March is aaaaages away, there's no chance I'll see her for it. Now I'm fully expecting to go 🤦‍♀️

In the meantime I've said goodbye to my mucus plug for the 6th time and I'll just keep bouncing on this ball till my butt goes numb 😂

Kt1111 · 08/03/2022 16:03

@CorpusCallosum they just called me and I’m in for a s and a tomorrow too! We’re definitely in the same boat. Haha they’re going to book my induction while I’m there too. Hopefully I’ll be more than 1cm now.
To be honest , this baby has been a right monkey I bet now I have an appointment she’ll make an appearance tonight 😂

Good luck @Kt1111 !

My friend shared this video of a giggling grandma to try and get some Oxytocin flowing. It genuinely made me LOL 😆 m.youtube.com/watch?v=Yskf94MYM1I

May we see our babies by the weekend 🤞

Kt1111 · 09/03/2022 16:53

@CorpusCallosum So I’ve been for my sweep
Coz I’m still 1 cm. Good news is that she could touch babys head, said my waters were bulging and the cervix was soft.
Booked for induction Saturday, they keep me in and monitor every 6 hours till she’s born.so at least I know I’m close now. How was the s and s for you ?

OP posts:
CorpusCallosum · 09/03/2022 17:31

Sorry you've got to be in, it's no fun being in hospital. But you're soooo close! 🎉

2cm dilated (does that mean I'm winning?? 🤣), head nice and low, cervix soft so all looking good. 🤞 sweep works!!

Provisional date for induction not till Wednesday which means potentially another week of pregnant + labour 🤯

Kt1111 · 09/03/2022 18:01

@CorpusCallosum you’re winning! I’ve been 1 cm for 2 weeks 😂 if you’re 2 you’ve only got 2
More to go and then you’ll be off!! So exciting! I was worried the s and s would be painful but it was fine. Fingers crossed we both go before induction! Xx

OP posts:
FatherArmando · 09/03/2022 18:20

What about some nipple tweaking or other oxytocin stimulating activities?!

Keep moving if you can and she might come naturally before the induction. Both my younger 2 had to be evicted. Far too comfortable inside.
