6 weeks but don't feel pregnant at all!

Hello!!

Looking for some reassurance here because I've been generally chill since finding out I was pregnant after doing so much research beforehand. I'm 22 and it took us 7 months so I'm thrilled!! And it's my first.

But, I have no symptoms other than feeling extra tired (but this could be giving up coffee??) and the occasional very mild cramp.

When I read you're LESS likely to have a MC if you have morning sickness it sort of scared me.

I don't feel there's anyone to speak to as GPs aren't interested and it goes straight to an automated system where I've been given a midwife appt at 8 weeks, which is a long wait.

Anyone else feeling/felt the same here?? Should I be worried??

I know worrying can't change anything but would like to hear others experiences

It’s totally normal. I’m 15 weeks and don’t feel or look pregnant. I had no symptoms at 6 weeks. Around nine weeks some very mild nausea began but it was gone by 12.

A booking appointment at 8 weeks is also very normal, if not a bit early. There’s really nothing much to do beyond taking folic acid.

mum2be99 · 26/02/2022 08:32

Thanks Moancup!! So, are we just lucky?? 😅

It's just scary how I don't know what's going on in there and obviously I've come across stories of MMCs too which are scary.. but there's nothing to suggest this right now. I think with cutting coffee and alcohol.out I actually feel better than normal!

Did your midwife feel the heartbeat at your booking in scan?

I date back to a time when a pregnancy test could only be done at 12 weeks. Up to that time you might think you were pregnant but it couldn’t be confirmed! There were no scans and I remember the doctor putting a large horn on my stomach which relayed the heartbeat to a speaker. At 6 months I looked as if I was overdue!

LillyBugg · 26/02/2022 08:52

Sounds like you're just lucky OP. Also to warn you the booking appointment is massively underwhelming. They won't be listening for a heartbeat until about 16/20 weeks. The first glimpse you'll get of anything actually happening will be your first scan.

Congratulations OP. Make the most of a nice boring early stage!

mum2be99 · 26/02/2022 09:03

Wow yeah that must be a weird feeling @mdh2020 !! My mum keeps reminding me that a lot of women don't know for ages either! And thanks @LillyBugg - that's true. It's gonna be a long boring next few weeks up until the 12week scan but hopefully it will come round soon enough 🤞🤞

Just taking my pregnancy supplements, eating well and missing alcohol 😅

Sounds normal. If you'd like some reassurance you could book a private scan. I had one at 8 weeks at we saw a bean and a heart beat.

HW1989 · 26/02/2022 12:17

I had no symptoms until around 9 weeks, so enjoy it whilst you have no nausea and headaches! But I was the same and worried until the symptoms kicked in. It’s normal to not get symptoms until around 8 weeks, or even to not get them at all.
If you can afford it and are really nervous, a private scan is good to make you believe there’s a baby there (mine was £60). But don’t go until you’re at least 7-8 weeks as if your dates are slightly out you may not see the heartbeat which can make you even more nervous. Mine measured really small at 8 weeks but then right on track of what I had expected by the 12 week scan.

sidesplittinglol · 26/02/2022 12:19

Totally normal! I'm 32 weeks and I still don't have any symptoms other than tiredness! Everyone's pregnancies are different. Please don't worry everything is fine!

mum2be99 · 26/02/2022 13:55

Thanks everyone. I have started bleeding now today which was terrifying when I found it (quite a leak) but the midwife told me to monitor it. I have no pain at all I'm just hoping it's an episode as a few other posts on here have said similar things. Hoping and praying it's nothing serious :(

With respect, you're only six weeks. Give yourself a chance it's very very early days. Before all of this testing for everything u fed the sun malarkey, many people wouldn't have known they were pregnant at six weeks.

Enjoy your pregnancy and your baby.

mum2be99 · 26/02/2022 14:08

Agree! Thanks @Nelliephant1

Hello from a fellow 6weeker! I'm also not feeling very pregnant. This is my second (third, if MC counts), I kept a week by week diary of symptoms with my rainbow baby and it turns out Wk6 with my eldest I also didn't feel pregnant but I did by wk8 when nausea set in. Glad I kept a little diary now as I have something to refer to week by week (even though I know all pregnancies and all babies are different). I also had one-off spotting last time from wk5-wk9 but haven't had that this time, some people do, some people don't. Try not be too anxious - the first trimester is a very anxious time!

Wet alcohol - I found some great alternatives to alcohol that satiated my tastes. Frexient non-alc sparkling wine was a good replacement for prosecco (I hated Nosecco), and to if with lime or tonic and OJ, or 5he flavoured sparkling waters. This time round my husband has bought me a bottle of Tanqueray Zero which is quite acceptable, too!

Enjoy the time, once you get to 12w scan and beyond then time starts to go very quickly.

Suzi9989 · 26/02/2022 15:01

I only started to feel pregnant after 12 week scan as I felt kicking and movements. Didn't 'look' pregnant until after 28 weeks. Every pregnancy is different, try not to worry. Congratulations!!

mum2be99 · 26/02/2022 19:36

Might do this next week @Theneverendingcleaningcycle as I've started bleeding but without pain. Didn't want to go for early scans as not sure if it does more harm than good, but with my bleeding from today I think it's best!

Thanks for the reassurance @Margo34 ! I know it's still early days for us, but I'm laughing imagining going through summer sober. I would much rather do that though and have a happy healthy baby :)

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. The bleeding is a big blow to my calmness and worried but it could also be a number of harmless things 🤞

Congratulations!

It's normal.

For what it's worth, I had a mmc in 2019 and my (very strong) symptoms never faded. I had lost the baby three weeks before and they didn't go right until I woke up from surgical management to end the pregnancy. My dd is now 18 months old and my symptoms with her were quite mild.

mum2be99 · 27/02/2022 09:43

So sorry you had to go through that @Chanel05 😰 But happy you had a baby girl! Pregnancy works in mysterious ways!

grey12 · 27/02/2022 09:51

I had very little symptoms all my pregnancies 🤷🏻‍♀️ always very comfortable, slept well and didn't even have to get up lots of times to go to the bathroom. Everyone is different

mum2be99 · 27/02/2022 16:23

True @grey12! I'm feeling my best right now, no coffee or alcohol and happy to be pregnant 😊

Hello,

Just wanted to check how you found the rest of your pregnancy? I'm currently 5 weeks and 5 days and also don't feel pregnant at all! I found this post quite reassuring but wanted to check how you'd got on since February.

Really hoping all is well!

Pippa

CSR721 · 22/10/2022 15:59

I had no symptoms at all! Never got morning sickness or anything else really apart from tiredness. Im 38w now x

GoldJules · 24/10/2022 13:02

@mum2be99 hi there! I'm 6 weeks and I don't feel anything - which I am slightly freaking out about, as I had low HCG levels when I had my bloods done a few weeks ago. I am thinking about testing again as I just feel completely normal. This thread is reassuring! I also bleed a bit today, tiny bit of spotting - but only when I wipe, so hoping that doesn't get worse. Let us know how you get on!

CKBM · 25/10/2022 10:23

@GoldJules
how are you getting on? Im also 6 weeks now and had 2 chemicals earlier this year before 5 weeks. I haven’t really had sickness or indigestion - some burping
and some aversion to certain foods but not really many cravings. I don’t have the symptoms I had with my 2 healthy pregnancies many moons ago, which is worrying :( I had 3+ come up on clearblue at 5 weeks. I have a private early scan booked in tomorrow but every day feels like a month. It’s so hard and the anxiety is crippling

CKBM · 25/10/2022 10:24

@mum2be99
Did everything go smoothly with yours? 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Suzi888 · 25/10/2022 10:25

I had no clue, I was 38. The first inkling was being unable to do my jeans up and even then I thought it was over indulgence.

GoldJules · 25/10/2022 11:23

@CKBM Hi there! Well, I still feel nothing really. I think the only symptom I have is occasional burping and getting up 2/3 times a night to go to the toilet. I did a clear blue digital this morning, and only got 2-3 weeks, which I am feel worried about. Have taken to the dreaded google to calm my fears; some say that it is a bad sign, others say they had the same - and it all went fine. I've booked an early scan for Sunday - so I am just going to try and stay sane and grounded until then. Do let me know how it goes tomorrow! :-)
