How long/soon after childbirth did you have sex?

OP posts:

2 weeks, not sure I would recommend it though!

Pipandmum · 19/06/2020 19:19

About three weeks after section.

Quackersandcheese3 · 19/06/2020 19:22

Had such bad cock fright. It took me about 8 weeks I think.

anormalperson · 19/06/2020 19:26

2/3 weeks both times. Normal delivery, had a tear but was grand

Londongirl03 · 19/06/2020 19:27

2 months!

Sunshine1235 · 19/06/2020 19:28

8ish weeks with both of mine. A mix of not feeling ready down there and also just feeling exhausted and really unsexy all the time

Fizzingsherbert · 19/06/2020 19:31

8 or 9 months. Tore quite badly and took a while to heal. It's so important to only try when you're ready, your body has been through a hell of a lot down there!!

shartsi · 19/06/2020 19:44

2 weeks each time

firstimemamma · 19/06/2020 19:45

3 months.

It's not all about visible healing. One of the reasons it's recommended to wait until at least 6 weeks is because of the internal healing in your womb. After a woman has given birth there is a dinner plate sized wound where the placenta was that needs to heal and sex is not advised during the healing process.

Obviously I didn't have any way of knowing how quickly my womb was healing so I waited to be on the safe side!

Babyfg · 19/06/2020 19:50

6 months with my first, 8 months with my second. My body was ready but not my mind sort of thing!

Bugslydoo · 19/06/2020 19:51

About 4 weeks after. C sections for both

dementedma · 19/06/2020 19:52

Youngest child is 18 - years not months. I’ll let you know if it ever happens

Rebelwithallthecause · 19/06/2020 19:52

2 and abut weeks after a c section

Scubalubs87 · 19/06/2020 19:53

After 4 months or so I think. Physically, I could have earlier but I was shattered and sex was low on my list of priorities. Once I was getting more sleep, sex became more important.

MintyCedric · 19/06/2020 20:05

5 weeks and 5 days (now XH's birthday!) post EMCS.

DonaldJTrumpet · 19/06/2020 20:15

3 weeks but I had a c section. It was very slow and gentle but ok. I was scared of infection so he wore a condom.

I was young and so nervous that he wouldn't get enough sex as people kept saying it. We regularly go more than three weeks now. Haha.

CharDee · 19/06/2020 20:39

4 1/2 months months. We stopped when I was around 8 months so it was 6 months without sex.

We are quite active Blush usually around 4/5 times a week so it was very difficult not being able to do it!

WeDontTalkAboutLove · 19/06/2020 20:40

About 3-4 months. A combination of not feeling ready after an episiotomy and forceps delivery and also general lack of time and feeling exhausted.

shazzz1xx · 19/06/2020 23:20

@HenSolo. Haha same here x

HappyintheHills · 19/06/2020 23:22

6 days Grin

DramaAlpaca · 19/06/2020 23:25

After all three of my births it was just before the six week check up so I knew that everything was working as it should be.

idril · 19/06/2020 23:28

Six months. Straightforward births but no way was my mind ready before that. Took a long time for things to get back to normal but we got there eventually.

IckleWicklePumperNickle · 19/06/2020 23:28

First 6 weeks and second 3 weeks. No stitches either time.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 19/06/2020 23:28

About 9 months. Didn't have any drive before.

merryhouse · 19/06/2020 23:30

When do they do the checkup? 6 weeks ish? I did it then so that if there was a problem I could mention it. Had just about stopped bleeding by that point.
