Hi

If you had an elective c section or natural birth, can dads stay overnight during recovery period in the days after?

Also when/where is the latest you can tell them you want an elective c section?

I think it's fine for husbands/partners to stay IF you have paid for a private room but definitely not on a ward with women who have just given birth. I'd feel really uncomfortable being stuck in a room with strange men while I'm bleeding etc

@buddhababy2019 my XP was allowed to stay with me and DS overnight but that was because I had cannula inboth hands and we had been put in a private room because DS had to go under the light. Not sure about open ward tbh.

^^ this was at St Helier, not Epsom

Thanks @ChevalierTialys - I think I'll ask the midwife next time I see her. Though I'm hoping to be in and out quickly in which case it hopefully won't be an issue!
