Tell me about your cervix

Long painful induction for DD, ended in a 5 night hospital induction giving birth eventually at 42+4. 3 pessaries and 48 hours on the drip. Episiotomy and instrumental delivery in the end, 2 hours pushing, long recovery.

Currently 40+7 with second. I have a c section booked in for 42 weeks exactly as I'm not expected to go through the induction again my body didn't respond well. I would like to give birth vaginally but I just don't feel like it's going to happen.

3rd sweep today, cervix is 2cm long, 1cm dilated, medium firm and posterior still... so not great. Baby head down and engaged although not fully. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar cervix to go on to spontaneous labour within a few days or if I should just resign myself to the c-section?
