Bigblueeyes26 · 27/08/2019 03:58

So I woke up at 2 am with period type pain strong enough to wake me.out of a deep sleep. Pains ongoing despite hot bath, paracetamol and tens machine some tightenings but mainly back and period pain.
Dare I ask could this be it?

It could be but it might stop and start. Have you tried timing the pains?

DrWAnker · 27/08/2019 03:59

It sounds very promising OP.
How exciting!!!

rottiemum88 · 27/08/2019 04:02

That's exactly how it was for me, so could well be! Although in my case that was the early hours of Friday morning and DS didn't finally make his appearance until Sunday at 9PM, so hopefully things progress more quickly for you! Good luck OP Smile

toadabode · 27/08/2019 04:10

That's exactly how my labour started. Try to keep relaxed and remember to breathe, breathe, breathe.

Bigblueeyes26 · 27/08/2019 04:11

Wow didn't expect so many replies at this time of the morning. Thank you I'm due to be induced the end of the week so hoping its naturally started.
How come every ones awake Xx

I am awake because the sleeping child next to me kicked me!

Happy days to come Smile

Keep calm and remember the books, not etc!

HJWT · 27/08/2019 04:15

@Bigblueeyes26 get bouncing on a ball if you have one 😁 I'm awake because I put DD down for an early night! 7pm means a 4am wake up apparently 😴😴😴

theculture · 27/08/2019 04:15

*nct etc!

toadabode · 27/08/2019 04:19

Feeding my baby whose entrance into the world two months ago started exactly as you're describing

TinyMystery · 27/08/2019 04:19

Try to get some rest. I know it’s difficult and it’s all very exciting but this could go on and on and you don’t want your energy to be depleted just yet. All sounds very promising though!

(Awake because DH getting up for work woke DS. I’n feeding him in the hope he’ll sleep through me getting up and getting ready for work at 6 so I can just get him up, change his nappy and plonk him in the car when I’m ready to leave.)

Russell19 · 27/08/2019 04:19

Sounds like it! How many weeks are you??

Bigblueeyes26 · 27/08/2019 04:20

Oh gosh, my daughters taken over my bed little madam.
I just feel like I want to sit.on the toilet almost like i need a wee again. Still more cramping than tightenings though :(

I'm awake because I'm trying to figure out how to shut down my relationship with my parents. We have been very LC for the last couple of years but they did something today that I had to call them out for.
So the shit has hit the fan but I'm quite glad as hopefully I get to finally draw a line under it.
It's very dull but my brain is buzzing a bit.
It would be great if you are off the starting blocks, is it your first?

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 27/08/2019 04:22

I’m holding up reflux baby and crying with tiredness.

Birth ball will help things along, bath is good for pain but if you can and need it then rest.

DrWAnker · 27/08/2019 04:22

Ha I type too slowly.
Yes, try and rest a bit if you can.

Lovethetimeyouhave · 27/08/2019 04:38

My dad has cancer. I'm travelling home in the morning. Feel sick

Newmumma83 · 27/08/2019 04:51

Hi op! Sounds like the start!! How exciting! I hope it’s a lovely smooth Labour 🤞

Metheven · 27/08/2019 05:11

I start work at 6 otherwise I would still be in bed. It certainly sounds promising. Good luck - I will check this thread on my tea break.

ineednewhair · 27/08/2019 05:57

Awake feeding my little one.. winding her to be precise! An exciting time for you and definitely sounds like the start of something! Good luck to you x

1Bobbinwinder · 27/08/2019 06:09

Yes, definitely! I had the same thing a week ago today. On total denial until 1030 at night when I said to my husband let's go her checked NOW. 2 hours later my daughter was in my arms...

How old is your daughter? I sent my toddler to my parents for the day and made a "Labour nest" - closed curtains, turned lights down, put on my essential oils diffuser. Then just had a relaxing day as much aa possible while timing the odd batch of contractions. I think that helped get me in a good space. Also had a pub lunch which helped!

Good luck!!

kittlesticks · 27/08/2019 06:23

This was how it started with me and DD2, pains at 2.30am and she was born by 11am! Good luck

Bobbiepin · 27/08/2019 06:26

Hoping you're well on your way OP, it does sound like the start of things to me. Good luck!

wizzler · 27/08/2019 06:29

How exciting. Takes me back to the birth of my two ( now 14 and 12). Good luck Op

Bigblueeyes26 · 27/08/2019 09:51

It's all slowed down :( still got period pain and back ache but not as strong as it was now on my 2nd bath. I've been left with a bit of a headache just really hoping this is it xx

If the pain gets bad just stay in the bath and top it up with hot water. Try to rest if you can but also listen to your body if you fancy a walk then go for it but equally if you want to cosy up in front infront of the tv then go for it. X
