Early labour or wishful thinking?

TrixieFranklin · 15/06/2019 01:00

I'm 37+6 and for the last two hours or so have been having horrid period like cramps every 15 / 20 mins ish. At first I thought they were diarrhoea cramps coming on but I've tried and can't go (as in I just don't need to, not that I'm constipated - I've had 6/7 trips to the toilet today and the same yesterday!!)

When I'm not having these cramps I feel extremely sick but again can't be sick, and I keep having what I can only describe as hot flashes but up my back. Really weird. Baby has been moving loads all day. I've been exhausted all day and had a 5 hour nap at 10am after getting up at 8am which is really not like me at all.

First pregnancy was twins and I was induced early and had them at 36+6 but never really experienced the early labour side of things. The induction took days and then all kicked off and was very intense very quickly.

Could this be the start or am I just wishfully thinking as I've been getting a bit miserable and uncomfortable the last few days?

Hi, sounds very promising to me! I'm 37+3 and currently wondering whats going on as well because I've lost mucus plug all day long, had lots of braxton hicks that are uncomfortable but not sore, and now my back hurts a little. The biggest thing for me is I just "feel" different... I've been wishing for labour and now I feel a bit on edge which feels like a familiar feeling from my other labour's. Tonight may be our lucky night!

TrixieFranklin · 15/06/2019 01:07

The unknown is sooooo frustrating isn't it!! I completely know what you mean by just feeling different, I've not felt like this at all I just don't feel quite 'right' but can't really explain!!
Tonight would be great, I've been looking for a reason to get out of Father's Day engagements with my extended family and parents in law this weekend for ages Blush

Timely thread @TrixieFranklin. I'm 41+1. I had bad period like crampy pains before bed and have just been worked up by a really sore stomach which has now gone away.

Laying here in the dark listening to DH snore wondering if there's going to be another and this is the start of labour or just a bigger BH!

TrixieFranklin · 15/06/2019 01:29

Oooo @ryanreynolds if anyone deserves tonight to be the night it is you!!!

ryanreynolds · 15/06/2019 01:36

I really hope so @TrixieFranklin...have an induction date for next week so had decided I wasn't going to go into labour!!

Still nothing...should probably be trying harder to sleep - if it is labour then I may be in for the long haul...!

Thankfully DH has now stopped snoring!

I'm wishfully hoping we come back to this thread with lovely updates for each other! Getting out of fathers day commitments would be fab

TrixieFranklin · 15/06/2019 02:27

Sleep is definitely a sensible thing to try and do! I've just gone and tidied up the house and put the dishwasher on incase I need emergency childcare in the night/early tomorrow but I'm sure I'll wake up and everything will have stopped Hmm will definitely come back and update!

No labour here...maybe very early stages as they were pretty sore cramps last night but eventually went back to sleep.

Wonder what today will bring?!

TheCuriousSofa · 15/06/2019 07:33

No update yet... Lie-in or good news? Good luck!

TrixieFranklin · 15/06/2019 11:33

I'm actually at hospital but not in labour! Ended up curled over in pain with cramps and diarrhoea and now dehydrated on a drip Blush

Well that sucks! Hope they're coddling you - get well soon! Flowers

mawof3soontobe · 15/06/2019 12:21

Nothing for me either, so frustrated

ryanreynolds · 15/06/2019 16:11

Oh no @TrixieFranklin that's not ideal!

I'm still having on and off cramps although not particularly worse than they were. I assume it's the start of the latent phase of labour but not getting too excited as aware it could last for quite a long time...!

TrixieFranklin · 15/06/2019 16:32

Home sweet home, baby has gone back to back and they said that can cause stop start early contractions and a longer labour with more back pain - oh joy.
Also blood count was low so I've got iron tablets to try and up it incase of high blood loss in childbirth.

All signs of any sort of labour here have completely stopped Sad

Ahh baby comfy in mamas tummy! It's hard but enjoy your last few weeks!

mawof3soontobe · 17/06/2019 23:31

How is everyone?

TrixieFranklin · 17/06/2019 23:54

Miserable with nothing to report!!

OP posts:
mawof3soontobe · 18/06/2019 00:11

@TrixieFranklin I am the exact same! I cannot stop obsessing and overanalysing every twinge

TrixieFranklin · 18/06/2019 00:37

So frustrating!! Are you sleeping ok? I've been really struggling the last few days to get comfy and to sleep at night but I can sleep absolutely anywhere in the day time.

I got dragged to soft play by my 3 yo twins today and I only really agreed to take them thinking that running round after them might kick start something but no, it was just its usual hell on earth Grin

My friend swore my evening primrose oil so that should be delivered with my online shop tomorrow.. also tried a clary sage bath bomb tonight which did absolutely nothing!

mawof3soontobe · 18/06/2019 10:25

I seem to be sleeping like a log just now which is so unusual for me!!! My partner coming into the room would usually wake me but my mother dropped in yesterday and tickled my feet to wake me... I didn't even move!
I have been on the ball all day every day, had a madras last night, have bought fresh pineapple, waiting on clary sage in the post, walking up the stairs like a crab, you name it I'm trying it 🤣

TrixieFranklin · 18/06/2019 15:29

Ugh been to the midwife and she said only 4/5ths engaged (which I thought was good but turns out it's backwards so 5/5ths is heads free..).

Soooooooooo miserable.

OP posts:
mawof3soontobe · 18/06/2019 20:03

Oh @TrixieFranklin that's rubbish! This is my third so don't expect to engage until labour. I just blended an entire pineapple core and all and drank it to see if anything happens, a whole litre!!!!

TrixieFranklin · 19/06/2019 22:08

Still no baby Sad

OP posts:
mawof3soontobe · 20/06/2019 00:17

I'm still here too. Had sooo much pressure on my cervix earlier and I get constant BH so let myself get excited again for no reason! Getting sick of it now

TrixieFranklin · 20/06/2019 00:25

Bugger I had hoped someone would have popped! Have you got a plan for if you go over? They'll only let me go to 41weeks ish so have a C section booked for 41+2 because of previous emergency section with the twins after a failed 21 hour induced labour Blushthey don't want this baby getting too big and won't let me be induced because they're worried about undue pressure and stress on my scar.

I really really don't want to be pregnant until then that's another almost 3 weeks!!!
