Vaginal frank breech birth or elective c section? HELP!

Hi everyone, I am 38+3 and have just had my second ecv to try and turn my frank breech baby. It was again unsuccessful and very painful this time! I am now booked in for a c section next Wednesday but still have the option of trying for a vaginal breech delivery and really don't know what to do. I so wanted a water birth which I can't have anyway now and the thought of a c section scares me but I've been told it will be safer for baby as this is my first pregnancy. Has anyone else had to make this decision and what happened? Really at a loose end at the moment :-(( please any advice would be appreciated xx

I would assume that your two ECVs haven't worked for a reason and go for the CS

Thanks so much everyone. I have decided to have the c section but have postponed it till next Monday as my husband now has the flu! This will be the day before my due date so hoping by some miracle she may turn by herself in the meantime and also now praying I don't get this flu! x

Hi laulou82, just to let you know of my situation this time last year (as very different from many replies on here) - which seems to be very similar to yours. I too had a breech firstborn, had two unsuccessful ecvs, then managed to have a vaginal birth (also wanted a home water birth but obviously a no-go). Took over 30 hours to push her out, had an epidural and a third degree tear, but it can be done. Had very experienced staff around me of course. Hope the birth goes well and best of luck.
