I had a feeling I would have dts early (ok not unusual with twins) so I started my maternity leave at 32 weeks, I had dts 5 days later.

yes, but she arrived on her due date ! was convinced would not go beyoned 38 weeks !!

37 weeks is classed as full term, so you might have 6 weeks left..

how are things now re the baby and his/her growth?

pesme · 10/04/2007 10:36

i was planning a home birth but i knew pretty much from the start that i wasn't going to make it to the 2 week window before my due date. can't explain it but really knew.

trace2 · 10/04/2007 10:56

I too am absolutely convinced I'm going to be early, and have said so right the way through the pregnancy. I know first babies are often late, but I just have this feeling (although maybe it's because I don't much like being pregnant!).

I'm 34+6 at the moment, so we'll have to see!

Jossiejump · 18/04/2007 14:37

I somehow knew my DS1 was going to be early (came two days after I predicted it, but was still two weeks early), 2nd time round I was getting impatient when I got to 38 weeks, thankfully DS2 was born at 39 weeks as i would have gone insane if I'd got to 40 weeks or overdue as I somehow felt that my babies were suposed to be born early (he was induced after my waters leaked as I'm GBS)

i was so sure my ds would be early i took early maternity leave too - from 32 weeks- as i wanted to get my house decorated before he arrived! sure enough he was born at 37 weeks...

unknownrebelbang · 18/04/2007 14:50

I was convinced from the start that Rebel1 would be a boy, come early and DH would be on nights.

Right on all three counts.

unknownrebelbang · 18/04/2007 14:50

(I had a lousy pg too - in and out of the mat block from 31 weeks, he came at 37 weeks).

BabyMadwithBump · 18/04/2007 20:39

I'm soooooo sure I'm going to have this baby at about 37-38 weeks and on the kitchen floor,

hi all. i had such an awful first preg, 2 weeks over, failed induction, emergency CS. i would really love for this baby to come early but had nothing to suggest this as yet

thirtysomething · 18/04/2007 21:17

yes, very much so with 2nd pregnancy. At 36 weeks I spent an evening lying on the sofa thinking I was just soooo uncomfortable (I am very short and baby was really hurting my ribs) that surely I couldn't go on being pregnant for another 4 weeks. Lo and behold two days later my waters broke and Bingo! I thinks sometimes you just sense when the bump is ready to drop! Good luck!

LaDiDaDi · 18/04/2007 21:19

I worked on scbu before dd was born. I had a nagging feeling the whole time that dd would end up on the unit. Sure enough she was born at 32 weeks and was well looked after by my colleagues!

Sumsey · 18/04/2007 21:19

main reason i want it to come earlier is beacause i am actually scared shitless

bettythebuilder · 18/04/2007 21:36

Yes, as soon as they told me I was due on the 28th December, I knew exactly where I would be spending Christmas Day. Sure enough, dd arrived 3 days early

roseylea · 18/04/2007 21:42

I had a dream one night when I was pg with baby no.1 (our dd) that she was born early, and when I woke up I felt that I had to be ready for her in case she did come early.

Then when I started ante-natal classes the first session was about early labour and the mw was talking about what to do if it starts before 37 wks and I suddenly thought "I've got to listen to this - it's going to happen to me" and lo and behold my waters broke at 34 weeks and I went into spontaneous labour. I was really chilled out and peaceful about it though because I knew it was going to happen and dd was fine (a bit small and needed a week in SCBU).

My take on it all is I'm a christian and I believe God was preparing me for what was going to happen. Don't know what you make of that but it's true!

REIDmylips · 18/04/2007 21:44

from day one i told everyone that ds would ome 2 weeks early. He arrived 3 weeks to the day before his due date!

Rochwen · 19/04/2007 20:41

I was suffering badly with SPD and I begged dd to come out asap and, voila, she did. She was born 6 weeks early and saved me weeks of agony.

ChasingSquirrels · 19/04/2007 21:38

I was convinced ds1 would be 2 weeks late and I would end up being induced - he was exactly 3 weeks early.
I then managed to convince myself that ds2 would be 2 weeks late aswell, insane given all the contractions I had from 20 weeks. Once again I got an early baby - 36+6.
