anyone awake and want to time my contractions??!

am 37 weeks today and felt niggly uncomfy all day - had contractions on and off but can;t sleep! Last one was 12.53 ....

octo - don't be a silly hormonal boiled egg on legs. If you're lurking, please come back! Think it was only you nagging that had people giving birth - apart from ooggs it's all gone quiet!

Ooh lulumama, while you're here, someone asked a while ago (can't remember which thread) what caused labour to start - is it the baby, or a hormone that you produce, or does no-one really know?

there is a complex trigger of hormones, which i think is partly down to the baby but no-one is really quite sure how it all works...but the two homrones released when you have sex, orgasm, and nipple stim, are oxytocin and you get prostoglandins in semen, all of which ripen the cervix and can trigger or strengthen contractions....

but babies come when they are ready, but it is nice to feel like you are helping !

Octo - hi again. I am truely reminising about my long time with contractions (7weeks) with irritable uterous. It is a tough time, just as things look like there are about to happen and they don't. I hope that you manage to relax as much as possible, plenty of those relaxing baths and as much rest as humanly possible. It won't be long now before you have that babe out and the contractions all finished, but I can fully understand you not wanting today! .

Would snuggle into the sleeping bag and zip it up - may get cold tonight!

Its sunday - so expect some action! Having contractions again but probably every ten minutes and go pretty quickly and they're not doing the wave thing!

I am supposed to be in bed now ....

WAS? Its not until 15th April!!!!!! and yes its boy no.3 and his name will be Ernie

I know, I know Lulumama - but just needed an extra little snack before bed Yummy roule on water biscuits and grapes. Sorry I missed the filo parcels - I take it the pastry defrosted!
