hope it all goes well , and my third was also a niggling little blighter!! had a good week of contractions!!

NatalieJane · 27/03/2007 11:54

LOL Octo, I think I remember saying that with my first... and second come think of it!!

Glad the monitoring went well, I found a bath with some lavender oil really helped to relax me when I was going through it, also if you prop yourself up on some cushions you might get some more sleep, my contractions hurt like hell when I led down, so sitting up was the best thing.

And if you are taking any RLT, stop, it just makes the contractions worse with no effect.

glad everything is ok octo

Katy44 · 27/03/2007 17:41

Can I be boring and opt for a normal one please?

lulumama · 27/03/2007 20:18

mo, must be terribly exciting...how about in the organic fruit and veg aisle at waitrose???

Katy44 · 27/03/2007 20:27

I don't go to waitrose (is new and right in the middle of town)
I'll see what I can do next time I'm in the tinned vegetables aisle in Sainsbury's though!
(Wonder if I'd get my tins of sweetcorn free?)

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 27/03/2007 21:20

Here is Bramshotts birth story ladies!

Well you might have noticed that I was on here last night, then went to bed, and slept completely normally till I woke up at 5.40am for a wee. Then back to bed, and some pains every 10 mins or so until 6.30, at which point I decided that it really was happening, and we'd better get DD up, take her to her friend's, and head off to the hospital. Only we didn't make it as Orla arrived in the car at 8.15am with me shouting loudly and struggling to get my trousers off! A postman called an ambulance and we carried on to hospital from there! Nothing if not fast and dramatic - and sooooo quick. No time for pain relief, not even the bloody TENS machine I picked up yesterday!

Anyway, home now, all going well, she's fed a couple of times but is still quite sleepy so we're hoping for a quietish night tonight to recuperate! She was 6lb 7ozs and is gorgeous - all pink with red-gold hair. DD is quite excited, although she was bit scared when I was shouting in the car on the way to her friend's this morning - couldn't help it!!

I know someone who gave birth in an M5 service station!

I would quite like to give birth on a beautiful tropical island in a luxury suite filled with flowers, chocolates and pinot grigio (or sauv blanc - not fussy) Can you arrange that Lulumama? Go on, I'm sure you could swing it! Please please

or alternatively its a pokey delivery room at RUH, Bath with blood splatters on the ceiling and flip flops to stop you getting verrucas!
