Update from Octo - contractions started again (think she forgot to say they'd stopped) thinks they could go on for weeks!

EllieK · 26/03/2007 15:58

EllieK · 26/03/2007 16:04

she hasn't been back to the April thread yet, just texting one of the others. She is always the one to get things wound up then bugger off

it's Octo, you can bet it'll be weird

she's planning a hospital birth, and has 2 dc's already (i think ) so there's lots of scope for comedy

NatalieJane · 26/03/2007 16:15

LOL Mellowma, you left off the most important point...

What did her knickers smell of?

Why do I always have to be the brains of the operation?

lulumama · 26/03/2007 17:23

EllieK · 26/03/2007 17:26

NatalieJane · 26/03/2007 17:27

Cor, I had forgotten the DIY sweep, that was an adventure for DH, don't think he has ever looked at me the same since the day I asked him to walk his fingers up my back wall and have a wriggle about....

EllieK · 26/03/2007 17:47

Have copied this from my due in April - will now go and read all your posts!

Contractions and niggles started yesterday afternoon - by 8pm they were about 8 minutes apart then tried to go to sleep in case was false alarm , but failed - by 1am they were 4 minutes apart and lasting a minute and quite sore - could not get to sleep at all - imagine giant squirming octopus on bed with hot feet! Tried lots of different positions to see if would stop - still going on at 4.30am after a little wonder around in the dark - went back to bed and must have eventually crashed out - woke at 8am very sore and tired. Contractions have been on and off all day and my tummy hurts! Feels like my tummy has run a marathon!

Got a sleep in this afternoon but just feel knackered and achy. Only had a banana, crisps and rice crispies all day - not hungry at all.

Rang midwife this afternoon to ask where to put the tens pads - said I could go in but can't be arsed - will go find a picture of someone with some on!

This baby is in no rush!

Thanks for all your messages - if I knew there were tea and biscuits I would have come on sooner!

How do you do a DIY sweep?

Natalie Jane - how long exactly did you labour for? Did your tummy ache after the contractions?

I really did think that would have it last night or today - the only thing that kept me in bed and not going to hospital was the fact that dh had drunk a whole bottle of red wine and didn;t want to drive him in! My own fault - said those words 'itw on't come tonight!'

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 26/03/2007 18:06

Hes not moving much today either - do you think he is in shock? When do you think should call hospital if doesn;t start moving - ds1 and ds2 had dodgy heart traces so am feeling a little anxious. He went mad yesterday evening before it all kicked off.
